The German women team just won at the Olympics 8:0 vs China.

I think, we should consider sending them the next time to international tournaments.

This gives Mexican women some hope. Perhaps we can beat China, or draw, then lose against Germany by less than 8 goals, and get into quarter finals.

Brazil beat Australia 1-0. This means Brazil is not playing very good (the Australian girls were easily defeated by the Mexican squad in friendly preparation matches).

The big surprise is Japan beating Sweden.

There's footie in the Olympics too, you know. And dear Walter got a bit carried away with his girls' victory,

BTW, if you want to win a virtual medal, and don't lose money while betting, there's only one more day for entries in the A2K Fantasy Olympic Prediction Game:

Walter, good thing you reminded me about one of biggest shocks in world of football, just few days ago.
European Woman U-19 championship in Finland. In opening game Germany destroyed Spain 7-0...they continued in that style, humiliating all opponents all the way to semifinals where they had fun with Russia - 8:0.
Final against Spain. Same Spain they beat 7:0 in first game.

Result: Germany-Spain 1:2!
