Another issue we face when engaged in diplomacy with the 'Muslim world' is its antiquted class structure. We're not dealing with the masses, with the people. No, we're negotiating with cruel, self-centered aristocracies that oppress and exploit the common man, and don't reflect any semblance of a popular will in their decision-making. Therefore, it's impossible for us to please the Muslim world. Until its societies are genuinely democratized (not our job), our relationships with it will be scandalous.
