Hi All!

I have been asked to ask.

There still appears to be mixed feelings about the recent merger.

Some don't like the enormity of this forum, some don't appreciate the lack of rules, some are unconvinced that any betterment has fallen on either doorstep, some are happy to have the new flood of opinion and ideas.

How do you honestly feel about the merger?
This is the place to get it off your chest.

Thank you, and prosper accordingly!

@mark noble,
I was happy to hear that the philosophy forum would join A2K. I am happy many of you have decided to stick with A2K.

I am very anxious, however, for some of you guys to meet the legendary A2K poster, gustavratzenhofer:

Encountering Gus is always a turning point for anyone new to A2K.

@dlowan,
Hi Dlowan!

What's a "Curate's egg"?

Kind regards!

@mark noble,
I look at it as one more area of interest shared by many. I like to look in from time to time

@mark noble,
hi mark !

if you really have to know what a " curate's egg " is , google for it .
but here is a taste of it :

Quote:
Bishop: "I'm afraid you've got a bad egg, Mr Jones"; Curate: "Oh, no, my Lord, I assure you that parts of it are excellent!"

hope this'll give you a little laugh .

@mark noble,
What dlowan said.

Specifically, I don't find the Philforum people to be homogeneous. I really like some of them. Others I find irritating.

The same went for A2K'ers before you guys turned up of course.

I do like the infusion of energy and fresh voices and viewpoints.

I've found that getting to know you (general "you" but also specific mark noble "you") has helped a great deal. Some of the things that bothered me a lot at first are just kind of "there he goes again, ah well, moving on" now that I know what to expect. Smile

Though I often react with impatience with some of the new threads, I'm also finding that I participate more often now. So I guess the merger was a good thing in that respect.

Beyond that, things are not really all that different for me. There are more discussions to choose from now, but I'm not feeling tremendous change. I can imagine things are different from the philosophers' perspective, though.

@mark noble,
However, I get a sense that the philiforum people are slwoly wandering off to other locations. SO I cant say that the intended result was even achieved.
I understand that the merge was done in a hurry as a result of a hack, but even so, deliberate or fast, if the participants of the forum are dissatisfied with the new neighb orhood, its not in our ability to change your collective mids.

May your brilliance only be overwhelmed by your patience. (I have no idea what I said there).

Hi Farrmerman!

I would guess that 75% never even showed and further, only 10% have remained.

But you've still got me!!! Yippee!!!

Have a better day than panzade, sir!
