I'm just along for the ride, and talking to whomever happens to turn up. I never paid for anything, so I don't expect anything, and so far, it has been a great ride.

Trust me, I'm kidding. I do like jeeps quite a bit, as it happens, but we are open to people, no matter how obnoxious we are. Or most of us are.

I take it is as us earlier types that are the problem.

no probs. I do have some people on the ignore list, but they are mostly the types who are deliberately irritating, obnoxiously opinionated or illiterate. But I find most contributors are pretty friendly. Really I like the online philosophy idea because the kind of thing I am interested in is completely off the radar as far as real academic philosophy is concerned, at least I can find some people who have some overlapping interests. But I do ask myself if I spend too much time doing this, I actually have a ton of regular work-type things to attend to at any given moment, this just seems a lot less onerous....

Here's something I've really enjoyed about our new members... I love watching them run into some of the old-time "colorful characters" we have on A2K and watching them discover who they are dealing with. I see a lot of the same logical challenges and discussion that I remember going through years ago. But it's interesting to see how the new members go about probing ideas.

I like our new pack of philosophers. I'm sure there are "colorful" members of that group as well that we haven't recognized yet.

Everyone are philosophers, not just people who once belonged to a forum about philosopy. If a thread seens to say: "philosophers only", feel free to come in.
