For the Red Sox to beat out NYY would be cool...

Here's your Game 1 starter and his pitching coach:

St. Louis-Houston could be interesting. The Cards get all kinds of attention for their hitting, but after seeing what the Astros did against my Braves, I have to respect their bats. The Braves' starters were pitching batting practice by the look of things....

Not as easy as I thought. Astros showed me good coaching.

has a team ever changed managers in mid-stream, and then gone on to the LCS?

Where would they be without him?

Not in the running for the World Series, that's for sure...

I guess he's a free agent after this year. Who wants to bet against him playing in the Bronx next year? Though NYY really needs pitching, I can't imagine Steinbrenner letting Beltran sign with another team...

Better grooming? Though I like their look better than the neo--50s style that Steinbrenner enforces. What a little fascist that man is...

For one they need at least one starting pitcher, because I'm sure there's no way in hell they'll sign Derek Lowe. And they need middle relief, BAD. They were banking on a healthy Williamson and Kim to fill that role, but it ended up putting too much on Embree and Timlin.
They also have to either resign Varitek or find a new catcher, and the same for SS.

Soooooo, wouldn't a Boston-Houston World Series be somewhat interesting?

Sure. Of course, to my way of thinking, any World Series without NYY in it is wonderful.

But I can see the appeal of Houston-Boston. One would have to win!
