Of course! That's why I offered. I didn't really intend to host you, but it seemed like something nice to say.

@dlowan,
If I win the lottery then I'll buy a townhouse or something. You can stay free of charge then.

Do you have any effectively lucky numbers?

Of course, Herr Twisty, if my accommodation turns out to be rat and roach infested and peopled with serial killers, I may impel you to live up to that oh so calculated offer.

And I SNORE!

@dlowan,
Damn right. Do you have a problem with that?
(I am practicing talking like a New Yorker).
We need to get the Boston crowd to agree to come to NY.

@dlowan,
But...at least I DID realise in time that I should amend my long service leave application to include as much Rec leave as I will have accrued...because I get extra money on rec leave!

Was just about to put it all in as LSL!

Will a spent air ticket do?

I'm on baked beans and lentils for the rest of my life!

I may become a dumpster diver.

I am kind of hoping that the remote fortnightly stuff comes through...not just for reasons of social justice and a desperate desire not to let a community that have risked so much down, but for the MONEY!

I am turning into a baaaad person.

I mean Wabbit.

You got a ways to go, kid.

"Damn right. You got a problem with that?" This is how I would say it, but the accent will get you every time--as will the attitude.

Glad you're coming to Noo Yawk. Don't care what you sound like.

Let me see if I have this correct so far, Dlowan.
You will be arriving in NY on Sat 10/2 but will need to recuperate.
You would be available to meet with folks on Sun 10/3, Mon 10/4, Tues 10/5 and Wed 10/6.
You might be leaving on Thurs 10/7.
But if you decide to leave later, you could be available Thur 10/7, Fri 10/8, Sat 10/9 and Sun 10/10. You would leave 10/11.
The latter option makes things quite a bit more expensive for you, it seems to me.

@realjohnboy,
While me, I wish I'd stayed two more days - not so much money compared to the getting there (in my case after 35 years) in the first place. "Life is short, art is long.." More specifically, I would have liked to have met people out of the crone group, like JoeN. (Slaps self silly)
