@tsarstepan,
****.

So glad it didn't go off!!!!

This is interesting...sounds as though the cops know a bit about it:

Quote:
A federal official said it was not considered it a terrorist threat and that the New York Police Department had told the Department of Homeland Security to stand down. The official would not say why he believed that or what the New York Police Department told them about the episode.

It was a nice warm night down in the Village, we ate dinner, saw a bad movie, wandered around through the crowds, got a weak Margarita, then took the train home. There was no hint of what was going on only a few blocks North.

@Joe Nation,
@Joe Nation,
You didnt know there was a bomb so you went home.
Others knew there was a bomb and hung around presumably to be there if it went off.

something not quite right there but cant put my finger on it.

@dadpad,
thats because real life is just like the movies.

You hear the boom, and everything slows down.
Its a good 5 minutes before anyone starts running and even then there is no threat. The bomb only blows straight up to drop just dust on to people.

Gosh. Dont you watch TV man?

whos scared of a little ole bomb

Reminds me of a character I once worked along side. He told me how a dam was projected to burst in another state - perhaps Missouri. He took a small boat into the middle of the water and swallowed LSD. When a boat of rescuers urged him to follow and help, he replied, "This thing's getting ready to blow and I want to see it."

@Joe Nation,
Did you just create an alibi for yourself Mr. Nation? Wink

Okay, I'll bite. What was the bad movie you watched and gave your $13 to in order they make Bad Movie 2? Please don't say you went to see the Razzie potential that is Furry Vengeance!

I hear New Yorkers don't trust people who drive. This guy's first mistake was using a car.

I like the reporting on the contents of the truck.

-Tanks of propane
-Plastic gas containers
-Fireworks
-Some wires
-Clocks

Clocks? As in plural? I think whoever did this watched waaaaaaay too much TV.

@Diest TKO,
How else would you make a bomb without the necessary alarm clock?!

@tsarstepan,
Seriously. Perhaps they think that it's the sound that sets off the explosives.

@tsarstepan,
Apparently the smoking vehicle was spotted by/reported by a street vendor. Props to them.

@tsarstepan,
It does. Now a Taliban commander has apparently taken credit for the NYC bombing attempt.

@Irishk,
Why would anyone want credit for a bomb that goes 'pop, pop, futzzz'?

@roger,
Good point. This individual buffoon of a nobody must be desperate for attention despite its amateurish nature. Kind of like that past so called bombing of the army recruiter station in Times Square. Was that ever solved?
