Jimmy Buffett hospitalized after a fall in Sydney Australia Singer Jimmy Buffett was hospitalized with a head injury after falling off the stage at the end of a concert in Sydney, Australia.

Buffett, 64, fell face first Wednesday night after an encore performance of "Lovely Cruise." Buffett had performed Sunday and Monday to sold-out crowds at Sydney's Opera House before moving Wednesday to the Hordern Pavilion for a show tacked on in response to demand.

"It looked like he did a massive face plant after his encore and pretty much didn't get up," a fan in the 10th row told Australia's Daily Telegraph, which reported that fans were told to leave the auditorium immediately, without getting news on Buffett's condition.

The singer was listed in stable condition at Sydney's St. Vincent's Hospital about four hours after the fall, CNN International said.

One too many?

5-foot Monitor lizard found wandering California; animal services officer captures it

The Associated Press

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Animal services officers in California are looking for the owner of a 5-foot(1 1/2-meter)-long lizard that was found wandering around a condo complex.

Animal services spokesman John Welsh says someone spotted the wayward lizard in Riverside on Tuesday afternoon. He says Officer Jenny Selter put a catch pole around its neck while a police officer grabbed the reptile's body. They then slipped it into a compartment of Selter's vehicle that's usually used for carrying large dogs.

Welsh says the animal is well-behaved for a Monitor lizard, and it likely has been someone's pet for a long time. He suspects it escaped from its cage, perhaps while its owner was away, and hopes someone will claim it soon.

Black-throated Monitor lizards are carnivorous and native to the grasslands of Africa.

UFO rumours send thousands to central Indonesian to look at rice paddy 'crop circle'

The Associated Press

JAKARTA, Indonesia - Thousands of curious onlookers are flocking to central Indonesia to look at a "crop circle" in a rice field following rumours it was formed by a UFO.

Though clearly sculptured by humans — it looks like an intricately designed flower — the 70-meter-wide (70-yard-wide) circle has drawn so much attention that police have blocked off the area with yellow tape.

Villagers have started charging entrance fees.

Guntur Purwanto, chief of Jogotirto village in Sleman district, said the circle appeared in the middle of the green rice paddies over the weekend.

Among those turning out Tuesday and offering opinions were officials from Indonesia's space agency, well-respected astronomers and nuclear agency officials. All agree it was not left by an UFO.

You know when people say they've been abducted by aliens and always describe them as having big heads with big black eyes?
I always wonder if they were indeed abducted by Pandas, but were just too embarrassed to say so.

@Old Goat,
Well that somehow makes sense Old Goat. Pandas aren't as cute and cuddly in the wild as Disney and the media portray them to be. They're the Asian equal to drop bears! Shocked

My question: How does he eat or drink?
-------------------

The man with no face - medical science offers new hope to face-eating tumor man

http://www.thatsweird.net/Pictures/manwithnoface.jpg
Above: Jose Mestre and his sister Guida in London. Pictures below show Jose aged 14 when the tumor was still small, and as he is now.

A victim of horrific facial disfigurement - known as "the man with no face" - has been given new hope by the advancement of medical science.

Jose Mestre, from Lisbon, Portugal, has been losing his face to a huge growth for the past 35 years, distorting it out of all recognition - and it's still growing.

The tumor on 51-year-old Jose's face is a collection of blood vessels that have expanded, producing a raised red area on the skin.

Jose was born with a strawberry-coloured birthmark on his upper lip. At puberty it began growing, eventually smothering his lips, nose and one of his eyes. Now it is 33cm long and weighs 3kg.

But Jose's religious faith - as a Jehovah's Witness he refuses to accept a blood transfusion - has prevented him from having surgery to remove the growth.

Jose's rare condition was the subject of a Discovery Channel TV documentary 'The Man With No Face', part of the 'My Shocking Story' series.

It reveals how top medical experts in London have now held out hope of helping Jose, a well-known figure around the streets of Lisbon.

A leading British surgeon has offered to treat Jose using ultrasound waves to coagulate the blood before the operation.

This should remove the risk of heavy bleeding - satisfying his religious beliefs about blood transfusions in the process.

Dr Iain Hutchison, of St Bartholomew's in London, is confident an operation with a harmonic scalpel could make him look a lot more normal.

Discovery Channel said: "Surrounded by a loving family, it seems incredible that he has not been treated and his face was allowed to grow so big. However, through years of medical misinformation, some misdiagnosis, lack of finances, and reluctance to undergo treatment due to religious beliefs, the growth has continued to obliterate his face."

My Shocking Story follows Jose on a journey through Europe to seek medical advice for one last chance to stop his face from suffocating him.

In this journey of a lifetime he travels by train, via Paris, to Britain, to meet the top experts in London. He goes through a series of tests, consultations, and meets other patients with a similar affliction. In London he also spends time with his sister Guida and the rest of his family, enjoys being a tourist in London, while making the biggest decision of his life.

Jose's dream is to live a long and normal life. Following the showing of the Discovery documentary he continues to adhere to his 'no blood transfusion' religious principles. But he has agreed to go back to the London hospital in 2008, when doctors hope to carry out specialist surgery to begin removing parts of his tumor, without the need for blood

A Canadian newspaper is reporting that Sun Shili, a retired foreign ministry official, states Extraterrestrials are living among us.

An extraterrestrial from Tau Ceti living in the U.S.A.

The China ET report is corroborative of this reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre's 4-part ExopoliticsTV interview and Examiner.com series with Jerry Wills, an apparent extraterrestrial from Tau Ceti who resides in the United States.

Jerry Wills is an accomplished healer, explorer, and musician with the band UFAUX who recently participated in a world webcast in which Mr. Wills discussed his identity as an extraterrestrial from the Tau Ceti star system (12 light years from Earth) left here as an infant as part of a project of the Council of Worlds for the betterment of Earth.

In a 4-part ExopoliticsTV interview with Alfred Lambremont Webre, Mr. Wills, who is 6 feet 8 inches tall, talks about how he was adopted by a human family, how he dealt with his unusual abilities growing up, how he was visited regularly by an extraterrestrial delegation that briefed him on his extraterrestrial identity and his mission, how during these visits he was told to watch for specific signs during the 18-year period preceding 2012 as to whether the earth and the human population would veer toward peace or war, and how these visits stopped on the day of September 11, 2001, Mr. Wills’ birthday and the date a regularly scheduled visit was of the extraterrestrial delegation to occur

Yeah, some of them are living in my townhouse complex! And, they're having kids! Wink

Say, any speculations as to how the poor fellow above in my story would eat or drink? I've been trying to figure it out. Question

A sizeable bunch of buzzards hangs about near our home. We often watch with amusement, these ungainly beggars, dining on road kill. Well, recently, some well-meaning soul installed a garbage can, of the type we see in parks, right inside the entrance of our neighborhood. These type are great drums, suspended between two posts, without any lid. It was a dumb, stupid and idiotic thing to do, because we live in a mobile home development. One that is a bit old and is occupied by low wage and no wage type residents. Immediately, it attracted all sorts of litter, mostly on the ground and only a little inside of it. Then the ones who won't or can't pay the garbage pick-up fee began dropping their household garbage in it. Back to the buzzards, which actually takes us back to that garbage can. The birds pull out the garbage bags and work in pairs to rip them open. It appears that all animals love table scraps. Probably there is not enough road kill to fill them up these days. I hope they can survive all that processed food.
