Saw a Washington Post article stating that the politicians railing the loudest against the stimulus funds have been requesting "their share" of the bounty.

@boomerang,
Mr. Pinsent brings gravitas and stoicism to where there isn't a molecule of either to a life of Justin Bieber. Not that Bieber has done anything to deserve such noble treatment.
HOUSTON — A 13-year-old special-needs student was reunited with his family Thursday, after he went missing for nearly two days after a Harris County deputy constable dropped him off on a downtown Houston street corner.
The Precinct 6 Constable's Office said Kenneth Miller was reunited with him mother shortly after a county jail worker recognized the boy as he was about to be booked on a complaint from the University of Houston downtown campus. Officials haven't detailed the complaint.
Miller was heading home from a Pasadena intermediate school Tuesday when a bus dropped him off a mile southeast of downtown Houston, near his home. Miller customarily walked home, his family said.
The deputy, in response to a report of someone needing help, picked him up and took him to Child Protective Services, Constable Victor Trevino said. CPS staff directed the deputy to take the boy to a homeless shelter or to Ben Taub General Hospital.
"The instructions were to take him to Ben Taub because he needed mental evaluation. He did not do that," said Miller's mother, Sherri Miller.
Instead, the deputy dropped Miller off on a street corner near Minute Maid Park. The boy had been missing every since, Trevino said.
"I didn't sleep at night. I just kept walking," Miller told reporters.
Trevino didn't say why the deputy dropped the boy near the ballpark. He said the investigation was ongoing.
Miller's mother said her son has anxiety and bipolar disorders.
The family and law enforcement officials had made public appeals for clues to his location, but the deputy failed to make the connection.
"He's very devastated," Trevino said. "He wanted to turn in his resignation."
Trevino said he did not accept the resignation from his deputy, who has been on his force for six months, but he promised changes.
"I agree with Mrs. Miller. There's a lot of room for improvement," he said.
Best-worst VHS covers, part one
In their travels through resale shops and garbage bins (okay, mostly resale shops), Joe and Nick frequently come across VHS tapes whose artwork actually turns out to be more exciting than the videos contained inside them. In part one of VHS Cover Awareness Week, they present us a fine slideshow of some even finer covers. Enjoy.
I always thought there would be a collector's interest in those things. Just as collectors like very old paperback books.

VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Hollywood actor Randy Quaid and his wife, wanted in the United States on vandalism charges, are seeking refugee status in Canada, saying on Friday they feared for their lives.
The couple were arrested in Vancouver on Thursday after police responded to a call and found there were arrest warrants out for them in California. Officials incorrectly said earlier that were arrested on Wednesday.
In a rambling presentation at an immigration hearing, Evi Quaid said eight of her husband's acting friends had been murdered in recent years and they feared he would be next.
"We feel our lives are in danger," she told the Immigration and Refugee Board hearing.
Their attorney, Brian Tsuji, later read a note from the couple to reporters. "Yes, we are seeking asylum from Hollywood star whackers."
