Nearly three months after U.S. immigration officials dumped Luis Alberto Delgado in Mexico despite his insistence that he is a U.S. citizen, the 19-year-old was permitted to re-enter the country last weekend with the U.S. government's blessing.

Delgado said U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents cleared him to return to the United States on Friday, roughly 85 days after he was detained by immigration officials and pressured to sign papers that cleared the way for his removal to Mexico.

Steven Cribby, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, declined to comment on Delgado's case.

On Monday in Houston, Delgado said he was pondering a lawsuit against the U.S. government, calling his case "an injustice."

U.S. Border Patrol agents detained Delgado after a traffic stop in South Texas on June 17 and held him for eight hours, questioning him about his citizenship.

Delgado said he gave immigration agents a copy of his birth certificate showing he was born at Houston's Ben Taub Hospital, a state of Texas identification card and a Social Security card.

Lack of fluency
But Delgado, who was raised in Mexico after his parents divorced, said immigration agents were suspicious of him because he did not speak English well, and insisted the paperwork he carried belonged to someone else.

Delgado said he eventually signed paperwork that resulted in his removal to Mexico because he wanted to be released from immigration custody, and thought he could fight his case from Houston.

"I believe (the agents) discriminated against me because I didn't speak English," he said. "If you don't speak very well, I think they just assume you're Mexican."

@edgarblythe,

Thanks, boomer. What a wonderful video. There is a TV show called Wipeout, in which men and women compete getting through a ridiculously contrived obstacle course. I have been noting that as many women as men reach the top of the order each week.

I am watching Wipeout right now...it is hilarious. It reminds me of that Japanese game show, MXC.

Take this one with a grain of salt, until it gets verified. It's from the National Enquirer.
-------------------------------------------------------------

ARISTOLE ONASSIS, who wed JFK's widow, ordered the assassination of his rival for JACKIE's love - ROBERT F. KENNEDY, book claims.

UK Daily Express journo PETER EVANS believes that Bobby assassin, Sirhan Sirhan, may be telling the truth when he said he committed his heinous act under the influence of narcoleptic drugs or hypnosis.

And possibly under orders from the notorious Greek tycoon himself!

Evans wrote an authorized bio of the lusty kingpin some called "psychopath" who had an S&M relationship with Operatic diva MARIA CALLAS before he dumped her to woo the world's most famous widow, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy.

Evans claimed in his authorized bio that Onassis even admitted it.

In 1974, Evans wrote, the ailing shipping magnate was on a beach on the Greek island of Skorpio when he told his latest conquest, NY photog, HELENE GAILLET, "You know, Helene, I put up the money for Bobby Kennedy's murder."

When JFK first ascended the Presidency, Onassis edged closer to Jackie by having an affair with Jackie's younger sister Lee Radziwell.

Jackie furious with hubby JFK's many affairs, including Marilyn Monroe, joined Onassis for a cruise on his palatial luxury yacht where it is believed they had a steamy affair.

JFK was assassinated 5 weeks later and Onassis stayed at the White House as a "guest" during the funeral.

A grieving Jackie soon threw herself in the arms of brother Bobby Kennedy, who was against her having anything to do with the wily billionaire playboy based on his past dealings with Onassis as US Attorney General.

But RFK's assassination changed all that and Jackie wed Onassis scant months later in October 1968.

It was more a business deal than true love as the groom offered Jackie $3 million for her hand and was stunned by her "naked greed" when she demanded $20 million, Evans wrote in the bio.

Helene Gaillet, who witnessed Onassis' confession, confirmed that Evans got the story right.

"Thank God the truth has finally been told for posterity," she said.

@edgarblythe,
Been all sorts of stories about the Kennedys, edgar. We'll probably never know the truth.

Here's another one. No humor, either.

NASSAU, Bahamas – A boater who disappeared off Jaws Beach — on an island where one of the "Jaws" movies was filmed — is likely the person whose remains were found in the belly of a shark, police say.

Authorities used fingerprints to identify Judson Newton, although they are still waiting for DNA test results, Assistant Police Commissioner Hulan Hanna said late Tuesday.

It is unclear if the 43-year-old Newton was alive when he was eaten.

Newton went on a boating trip with friends off Jaws Beach on New Providence Island on Aug. 29 and encountered engine trouble. Rescuers who responded to a call for help found three men aboard who said that Newton and a friend jumped into the water to try to swim back to shore. Officials launched a search for them, but neither was found.

On Sept. 4, a local investment banker caught the 12-foot (3.6-meter) tiger shark while on a deep-sea fishing trip and he said a left leg popped out of its mouth as they hauled it in.

When officers with the island's defense force cut the shark open, they found the right leg, two severed arms and a severed torso.

One of Newton's friends, Samuel Woodside, 37, told The Associated Press that he was surprised when he heard police say Newton probably drowned.

"To me, he was always a strong swimmer," Woodside said. "I don't know what happened."

@tsarstepan,
When they caught the shark, what, a leg or something fell out of it. Had the leg been boneless, that would not have happened (the falling out).
