@edgarblythe,
Have to admit I thought GW Bush had set the bar too low for any other presidency to do worse. Not even two weeks in and it's time to reassess.

@edgarblythe,
Never rode on a Harley, but did drive an Aston Martin once. Also while in the USAF stationed in New Mexico, a guy who owned a sports MBZ gave me a ride at 140 mph.

Some years after my discharge, I thought about that guy, because he wore only two stripes, and he came from a wealthy family from Minn. He was probably OSI working under cover, because we worked with nuclear weapons. I remember getting restricted to barracks for about 10 days. I think he was investigating my involvement with the Roswell Little Theater group. I didn't do any acting, but did everything else including lighting, sound, ticket sales, stage construction, and scenery painting. We even sponsored the New Mexico Beauty Paegent one year. It was really fun, and recently learned they're still active.

@cicerone imposter,
I had occasion to ride a dirt bike, some. Never trusted car drivers enough to ride on the roads. There was a great field where they pastured several horses that we rode in.

Traces of Texas
1 hr ยท
The Texas Quote of the Day is a good one:
"In the late 1950s, Clint Murchison realized that the NFL was about to blossom into something really big and he wanted an expansion team for Dallas. There was only one problem: George Preston Marshall, owner of the Redskins, disliked Murchison and opposed a franchise in Dallas. But Clint was not to be denied. Details of the story vary, but Murchison learned that the rights to the song, "Hail to the Redskins" were for sale by the composer. Murchison, in a move that would warm the heart of J.R. Ewing, purchased the rights to it and informed Marshall that he couldn't play the beloved song at Redskins games ----- unless Marshall was willing to vote "yes" when the subject of a franchise for Dallas came up for a vote at the league meeting. The ploy worked: Murchison was awarded the franchise and the Redskins got their song back."
----- Wallace O. Chariton, "Texas Wit and Wisdom"
