Former “sheriff of the year” arrested and sent to jail named after him
"Sullivan, who in 2001 was named the National Sheriff Association's "Sheriff of the Year," was arrested on suspicion of trafficking methamphetamines.
Local news station CBS4 began an investigation of Sullivan last month on a tip that he had agreed to meet a male informant, providing drugs in exchange for sex."

@Rockhead,
That's good news because he already can make a lot of friends as they already know the ex-sheriff's name.
@tsarstepan,

How can we trust anyone to have good judgement if they base it on faith? And how can we trust them with power if they think praying changes anything? You can be religious and be president. But the US needs rational religious people, not more fanatics. Bye bye Newt.
@rosborne979,
You can have judgment with faith from the public's point of view because without faith a leader has only his or her own subjective desires as a guide.
People's judgement is remarkably the same, whether atheist or of faith. They fall into two basic categories, fundamentalist atheist/faithful; liberal atheist/faithful. Ever the two visions shall collide, until the race grows up.
@edgarblythe,

"TOKYO (AP) — An outing of luxury sportscar enthusiasts in Japan ended in an expensive freeway pileup — smashing a stunning eight Ferraris, a Lamborghini and two Mercedes likely worth more than $1 million together.
Police say they believe the accident Sunday was touched off when the driver of one of the Ferraris tried to change lanes and hit the median barrier. He spun across the freeway, and the other cars collided while trying to avoid hitting his car."

A Tennessee couple helplessly watched their home burn to the ground, along with all of their possessions, because they did not pay a $75 annual fee to the local fire department.
Vicky Bell told the NBC affiliate WPSD-TV that she called 911 when her mobile home in Obion County caught fire. Firefighters arrived on the scene but as the fire raged, they simply stood by and did nothing. "In an emergency, the first thing you think of, 'Call 9-1-1," homeowner Bell said. However, Bell and her husband were forced to walk into the burning home in an attempt to retrieve their own belongings. "You could look out my mom's trailer and see the trucks sitting at a distance," Bell said. "We just wished we could've gotten more out."
South Fulton Mayor David Crocker defended the fire department, saying that if firefighters responded to non-subscribers, no one would have an incentive to pay the fee.
