Since Olivier has done so much work to get you this far, I’ll let him respond to the bulk of this post, but I have to respond to part of it.

I have no beliefs in any gods…AND I AM NOT AN ATHEIST.

It is a quote of what I wrote.

Get control. Let's get back on track.

This is not that big a thing. You simply are not correct in supposing that if you have no belief in a god...you are an atheist.

I am one, but there are lots of others, who uses latin to understand the word atheism. It may well be of greek origin. I think latin was around before french. Maybe your take on it was from a french person who knew greek. Whatever.

They call us weak or soft atheists.

I'm interested in this thread, and have been a long time, not for arguing about these words, but for talking among ourselves about our experiences in dealing with, communicating (or failing to communicate) with, people who are religious - family, friends, or others.

But you admit you didn't understand my post but yet instead of asking for clarification you made pronouncement and drew conclusion that weren't mine. If you didn't understand my post then you were making these pronouncements from ignorance, do you consider that honest?

As I have said many times...THE SAME DAY Kris started this thread...she was engaged in a discussion with a non-atheist. To suppose it is reserved only for atheists...is presumptuous and incorrect.
