@Frank Apisa,
Trying to "make a logical comment about something you cannot observe" and ending up with a statement about your own knowledge... That WAS priceless! You have no idea... You don't even understand why it's funny!

If it is funny to you, Olivier...great. You get a laugh out of it...and I do too.

I made a statement that met all the criteria of the conversation.

You are now flailing at the water.

And you are being a cooperative toy.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

You can easily observe the extent of your own knowledge, and therefore, a comment about the extent of your knowledge is about something you can easily observe.

Can you understand the above sentence? I tried to write it for dummies, but I can simplify even if needed...

I understand that you ego will not allow you to understand all this right now, Olivier...but as you grow up, you will see that I have been right on the button here.

In any case, "I do not know if there are any living beings on any planet circling the nearest 5 stars to Sol."

I can logically make that statement without observing what is going on on any of those planets.

Like I said, I understand that you ego will not allow you to deal with that in a rational way...but you seem like an intelligent sort...and when you settle down a bit, you will see the logic and truth in what I am suggesting here.

I will stick with you for as long as you want to discuss it. That is the least I can do considering all the time and effort you are putting into the conversation with me despite your scorn for my ability to "understand" your deep thinking.

Good...you are giggling. I say "good", because I want you to be having as much fun as I am.

There was nothing wrong with my sentence...and thought. Not sure why you cannot understand that...but I suspect you have just tuned out the truth.

In any case, if you are giggling...you are enjoying this. So I want to assure you I will stick here with you for as long as it takes for you finally to understand the obvious.

You must be kidding. Are you really not getting the point??? Or are you pretending to be dirt stupid just to make me laugh?

I am not stupid; I am not pretending to be stupid; and almost certainly you are not perceiving me to be stupid. I also would guess that you are more likely gnashing your teeth than laughing.

You think you are making a valid point...but you are merely defending a position...apparently because you perceive it to show me to be wrong. (It doesn't...it doesn't even come close.)

You regularly aver that I am boring, uninteresting, uninformed, possibly intellectually deficient...and a complete waste of time and effort...

...but here you are post after post in several threads dealing with me on the issues we have been discussing.

You are one of the most inconsistent posters ever on A2K...uneven in the extreme. Even you, in your frustration must see this by now.

And the funniest thing about it...THE REASON I GIGGLE SO MUCH...is that you are unable to extricate yourself from the mess. Your ego simply will not allow you to do what should be done.

You are, as I have mentioned, a willing toy for me to play with.

Stick with me, Olivier. Even though you really dislike me...you may learn some lessons that will help you in the future.

@Frank Apisa,
Blimey! You're immature, you're angry, you're silly, you're flailing, you're a good boy, you're tuned out of the truth, you're gnashing your teeth, you're a cooperative toy, you need to settle down, you don't come close and, would you believe, it is hoped that you are enjoying it as much as Apisa is.

And that's just in a handful of posts. Although I expect that if 100 were examined there were be considerable repetition.

There are benefits in not respecting Apisa.

Inconstant????

I must say you are very constant, Frank... You contradict yourself CONSTANTLY! You repeat the same tired platitudes CONSTANTLY! And you never fail to make me laugh. You should stop golf andvtry stand-up comic. Just sand up there and start talking of the "qualifier". Hilarity guaranteed.

Thank you. I think I am, myself.

No I do not do that. I am consistent. You are simply allowing your anger and frustration to rule you here, Olivier. Get it back in check.

You seem to be here to discuss them with me...despite you feeling that they are tired.

I don't think they are tired...I think you are.

I am not.

I am clever...but even I will acknowledge that I am not clever enough to make anyone laugh every time.

I think you are exaggerating here.

Perhaps I already have.

Many people use qualifiers. That is one of the reasons the word "if" is used so frequently.

You really have lost it this time. You were more controlled in the earlier round.

I must really be getting to you! But that is what I do
. Wink

C'mon. Get your "A" game back.

@Frank Apisa,
Cause you're playing your A game perhaps?... :-))

You can't even understand what you speak about, Frank. You speak without thinking. Whatever your objective intelligence level, you get either agitated, or stuck in a contrarian mode when you argue with others. This issue is likely to take as lot of time for you to understand, if I can manage to explain it for 2000 posts without laughing to death.

So... shall we move that discussion to a new thread? Let's not overextend our welcome....

Definitely. You haven't noticed?

I understand it completely.

I do not know the true nature of the REALITY of existence. When others suggest in any way that they do...I ask them: How do you know that?

Quote:

No I don't. But if it makes you happy to think that...go for it.

Keep going, Olivier...because I will be here for over 2001 posts. You are not "explaining" anything...you are servicing your ego.

But since we are both enjoying it all so much...what the heck difference does it make. It a win/win situation.

What the hell are you guys debating?
Whatever the nature of reality, it's the only one we've got, so live with it..Smile
Chuck Heston had the right mindset when his spaceship sank at the beginning of Planet of the Apes, he took it right on the chin and told his mates "Okay, we're here to stay!"

@Romeo Fabulini,
The reality Apisa is talking about Romeo is the one he does not know the nature of. So the admission that he does not know the nature of it is hardly susprising.

He knows things about Olivier's nature that Olivier doesn't know.

Thanks for explaining it, it's clear as a bell now, and I see others subscribe to the same school of thought, what a pity Frank Apisa never went into politics..Smile

The unknown reality Apisa is talking about will always remain unknown to him because he takes great care to avoid even peeping at it in case it causes him to faint clean away.
