Geez. Stop it.

Spendius is gathering flumes of rancor. It's his way.

Why do you ******* feed his repetitive screed?

I'd much rather talk about the history of the bonfires of vanities.

@ossobuco,
This thread is most annoying for what isn't discussed.

@ossobuco,
That's your fault. Discuss what you want. Providing you stay clear of the social implications of universal atheism it should be acceptable.

The simplistic tripe has nothing to do with me. I can't be expected to answer to such things. Silly assertions such as that ed mean nothing. Except maybe to highlight your method of discussion.

What I say is generally on Ignore. Now I'm accused of saying things I haven't said. And it isn't even a manifesto.

@spendius,
spendi, You provide more tripe on a2k than the total of all others. Look in the mirror, pal, when you're sober.

Driving home today, the local oldies country station aired an ant-evolution add. I wish I had not had my window rolled down. I could not hear the whole thing.

@edgarblythe,
I guess that's right of reply for all the 'pro-evolution' ads?

How weird that the discourse degenerates into marketing. Forget logic, truth, facts, evidence... what we have to do is sell the idea! It may be cynical but it seems all to successful.

If you call something flawed often enough and with the right conviction, even some relatively intelligent minds can be swayed. To the educated person, the truth is so evident that adds are not deemed necessary. Wrong - apparently.

I'll be back on the bonfires. I read a lot about those a while ago, back when I got my info from a lot of books and spent time trying to figure out which author was original, bla bla. My own interest was piazza Signoria as a place, but I was pulled in to the accounts.

I've no doubt I'm just an amateur re both the piazza and the history surrounding the bonfires. Pretty engaging, though.

@ossobuco,
You and the rest of us can be wise and some times we get it wrong but it is when we can see that we get it wrong is when we really prosper from seeing our mistakes but I do have to admit that it is very hard to see when we are wrong!

@spendius,
No, shithead (a fond or not fond usage in california some time ago), it is your fault with your persistent barrage of drivel, and it is our fault, for responding.

So, I don't agree with eorl on this. I have claws and don't need to sharpen them.

@edgarblythe,
Risking Osso's wrath, did you happen to catch who the person/group/body was that put out the ad, Ed?

Was the spokesman Billy Ray Cyrus? Wink

@edgarblythe,
Yes. I've read at length about them, pretty interesting all around. There were apparently cardinals at the celebrations..

don't ask me for links, though they are probably in my biblio.

Even Botticelli threw his paintings in, or so it is said.

I would suspect that an anti-evolution ad would be an exercise in preaching to the choir. Anyone sufficiently well-educated, and with a reasonably open mind, is not going to pay any attention to such dreck--those for whom religious dogma supplies all the answers will already be hostile to the concept. I'm sure the broadcaster is happy to cash the check.

There's nobody on here saying that so once again the desperate ploy of talking about people who are not here to respond is offered up as not trolling when it obviously is.

Atheists on here have no answer to the simple question --do they want everybody to be converted to atheism as an immediate consequence of their insights? When that can't be answered, and it's been asked on here often enough, atheists obviously have no answers. They love their minority status so they can pretend to be victims and want nothing done about it.

We are left at the mercy of what ed happened to hear on the radio as he was driving along. The gratuitous trolling.
