@aidan,
You are by no means ignorant nor is anyone else in my opinion, it is only that we all speak as if we have empirical facts that we know to be true but yet we are wrong about these facts.

Maybe I am wrong but I would think that a true form of science would see this about it self and not hold it self to what is thought to be empirical facts that can not be proven.

There are possibly many empirical facts out there like, example

{ We all speak at times as if we know that we are correct in our thinking but yet we are very wrong sometimes! }

I could see this to be a empirical fact! But then again maybe I am wrong and some one has spoke in empirical facts such as Jesus but I do doubt it!

@BillRM,
it shouldnt be about believing in the bible literally. the bible could have been just a story. some of it may be true, nobody will ever know until death. what we do know is that it has always been sacred. why would this be, if it does not contain something important? politics and life should be about being smart enough to read the bible and take out all the messages it metaphorically shows us and be able to apply them to real life antics. todays politics is truly a joke compared to what the bible truly stands for. anybody, even an aethiest is capable of having the will to be smart enough to respect the fact that there was a man who sacrificed himself for the sake of humanity. even if he was crazy, and he really didnt know what he was talking about; he did, because what he was talking about was just treating everyone else as an equal and not undermining anybody because they are less than you because not everyone is born with the same talents or abilities. it is ignorant to disbelieve in the messages jesus sent. if politics was reallllly about the believing in God, then it would reallly be about the messages jesus sent. and if this was stressed all over the world, there would be "heaven" on earth, rather than the "hell" it is now. politics is a joke, religion is a joke(if you ask me, because all it does is cause disagreement, which causes hatred). we are all just humans and it is just right to respect everyone and everything for the good it or they are capable of having. it is ignorant to not.

i think a couple of evil people just created religion one day because if there was no beliefs to disagree on, eternal satisfaction would be easier to come by. theres no such thing as eternal satisfaction and according to the bible, you will only get it when you die.

@iovieno3893,
Comic books are also just "stories." They're called "fiction" for a reason.

Im not saying anybody here feels this way, because you can be an aethiest and still have respect for everything around you, which makes you a good person. regardless of what you believe. and this world needs more good people

@iovieno3893,
Iov, this isn't a thread about arguing about religion.

It is for atheists to talk.

We have hundreds of threads on a2k about religion or lack of it - please check out those instead of this one.

Simply look at the search window and plug in the word religion.

What about homosexuality and their protection of perverts ?
Many homosexuals are after children . It is a minority who speak out against it . There have been homosexual parties where men were met by children at the door . At conventions they talk about getting devices to stretch arseholes to make them bigger . If you imagine the average homosexual is a caring person you have missed the bus . A lot of women are homosexual because they are emotionally damaged . A lot of men are homosexual because they cant get enough ******* and dont care what they stick their dick into....many started sex as children and want to return to those days of intensity and novelty .

Such devices are called futterers I believe. I think it derives from an Arabic word for an amphora with a wide neck of a circular nature. Large oval openings are usually compared to horse collars of the sort dray pulling beasts are equipped with and those which perform in ploughing competitions.

@Ionus,
I hate to disappoint you but I do think that Failures art used a little more logical reasoning than what you did but I think that I can see where you are coming from and that you are not completely wrong.
I do think that you could have possibly explained it in a way that many more would have agreed with you!

@reasoning logic,
Male homosexuals are usually sex mad and dont care what they stick their dick into.....some even joined the priesthood and pretended to be religious to get at children . Female homosexuals are usually emotionally damaged goods . Given many years, both calm down a lot with maturity but as they get older they can become obsessed with children . Prison is a major factor in "turning" people into child molesters .

Still, arguing about atheism is not the point of this thread, whether you are for it or against it or somewhere in the middle.

There are hundreds of threads on a2k on all that. If you can't find them, simply research religion as a search word.

At this point, I am more aggravated at all the atheists and agnostics who shut down this thread by buying up to the 'challengers', always feeding. The pump acts, the reaction starts.

I'm basically disgusted. I see a sea of feeders.
