Hear hear! Most sense made all thread.

Oh yeah Hex, because that's what this is about; I didn't start this to provoke a discussion of possible definitions/sets of categories, I started this thread because I'm too lazy to read wikipedia.
Fil Albuquerque ..ok mum.

PQ ..aha? ..ok? ..uhmmm? ..so I'v been right all along, I'm quite good at figuring out people.

@reasoning logic,
I was wondering why no one has commented on this video about this intelligent officer- cia analyst? His interview starts at 60 seconds!

@HexHammer,
You may be right about your interpretation HexHammer!

I get things more often incorrrect than what I wish for and I was hoping that some one who is more confident in their understanding of reality would be able to explain to me the facts from the opinions of what this person speaks of.
Thanks for any replies even if you find yourself in my shoes.

@The Pentacle Queen,
I have not read all replies, so I dont know if this aspect has been already brought up, but I will bring it up anyways. I suppose you do not expect the obvious answer, which is our brain's ability to resolve problems and create technology, etc.. I would say it is the ability to survive the universe. For example, a plant spore, conceiled in a crevice, in a rock, might outlive all creatures on earth (or on other planets if they exist) but it has no brains. Likewise plants have evolved systems that are very difficult to explain by chance or natural selection . There must be somekind of intelligence operating. In this perspective, to say that man has superior intellect to animals or plants, is not applicable, since man, through error , abuse of power and stupidity could someday extinguish himself and most of the animal and/or plant kingdom.

yul, Plants are living things with the same evolutionary changes.

@yul505ab,
Tha DNA is the logic system. It is similar in fuction as a ladder diagram in electrical controls. The switch being the gene. However, from the latest findings genes have multiple functions so it is far more complex than a ladder diagram. A gene could trigger other genes. A gene seems to be a multiple switch.

Multiple switch? ..for what? It usually only have a specialized purpose.

@HexHammer,
You don't seem to understand the analogy. Did you ever take ladder logic diagram in electrical controls?

Genes trigger the production of proteins or other genes. The entire DNA is the accumulation of a living logic system from a single cell organism to the evolved state that it has developed. It even shows the ignorance of genetists who looked at the older genes as 'junk' not realizing that they were the evolutionary trails of that oraganism that what pointed out by me several years ago on A2K.

@reasoning logic,
That man on your video seems intelligent.

I know he is talking about intelligence, in the sense of information.

But after hearing him out, I am left thinking that I am perhaps very intelligent, but I'm not very smart....

@talk72000,
So there could something else causing mutations in the DNA in direct relation to external factors during the life of a creature, plant or animal which is tranferred to the offspring. Did you know that a specie of orchids imitates the wasp female organ so that the males it will pick up its pollen. It mimics the shape and pheromones of the wasp! We can speculate that it is due to some natural selection and some extremely chancy mutations. Were these multiple mutations, DNA deletions and/or additions spontaneous or controlled by something external, that is the question. How could such complex modifications occur spontaneously over even several million years, it does not appear statistically possible. So something intelligent must be operating.

@yul505ab,
Mutation occurs from radiation, chemicals, diet, environmental factors such as temperature, moisture, etc. and are also random. The mutations that don't survive just die off. The survivors pass on their genes.
