Oh, I'm so happy for you!

Your remarks tell me that I shouldn't have lowered myself to your way of
thinking, aidan. The bottom line here is that parents cannot supervise their
children 24/7 and bad things happen to good kids and good parents. Period.

@Mame,
I hate to agree with a naked bimbo but here I am.

Intrepid, I like you but you seem to have no humor at all. Taking roger's
joke seriously or dlowan when she said "cut off their feet" ......really, it should
have told you something....

The humour in the inner parimeter I got and saw humour. You, apparently, did not see my humour in the reply to that.

To the knife remarks. No, I did not see humour in that and certainly did not see humour in the snide remarks to my reply.

I saw the humour in Dev's remark about cutting off their feet but I did not reply or remark on that. Not sure why you think I did.

I like you too even though we quite often do not agree. Smile

Wow - if I ever wanted an a2k babysitter - so far I think I'd go with Intrepid and Sullyfish. At least I'd know my six year old wouldn't be playing with knives.

Um, how much do you pay?

Aidan, have your kids never disobeyed you? Of course they have! Maybe the little fellow was told by mom and dad not to take the knife out of the house, or maybe they'd even taken it from it and put it out of reach but he got it back. It's quite possible. In which case, again, they aren't bad parents.

Dys - ya can't stand it when I'm right, can ya? <smooch>

That one sentence is the most sane, most reasonable, most eloquent thing yet said on this thread. Thank you, dlowan, thank you very sincerely.

"Common sense decrees that normal kids make normal mistakes and only an insane system sends little kids to some sort of reform school because of it!!"

Since this country was almost taken to its knees by a group of people with box cutters, we know that the weapon size does not matter. That kid should not have brought that knife to school and the parents should have had it put away for use later, under supervision. School districts have a 'zero tolerance ' policy around here when it comes to weapons brought to school.
