Standings are determined by a player's winning %, so there is no penalty for having missed Week #1.

There has to be rjb as mappie proved by his jesting "I quit".

@spendius,
You may not believe this, Spendius, but this issue was addressed a couple of years or so ago. I recall writing that, under Article 5, Section 3 of the A2K NFL rules, I (Johnboyboss) or whoever else was running it could unilaterally disqualify a player who went missing for "too long." And I got to decide what was "too long."
We have lost players for a week or so due to a hurricane or due to a crisis in the family. But when I see what to me is evidence of a lack of ongoing interest, I am sorry about the loss but adjust the standings accordingly, excluding that player.
Maporsche was, of course kidding about quitting while he is ahead. Many of the rest of us know where he lives.

@realjohnboy,
I'm all in favour of not disqualifying anyone who has missed for a perfectly good reason. But suppose someone takes to missing on those odd weeks when results are harder to predict. A .500 week.

@Rockhead,
You are correct, Rockhead. I want to see my name at the top of the list every week.

I want to take this opportunity to say that realjohnboy is the hardest working man on A2K!

Are you kidding? You're just saying that because you finished down the field in week 1.

It is my ambition to win this and stuff Tico. You'll see some strutting if I do.

Good evening. 17 players in so far. 11 to go with new players certainly welcome. No nagging yet. But I have at least two naggers ready to go.
This week there will be no games where we are unanimous. Alex is going (snicker, snicker) with his Detroit tooth-less Lions and Edgar has Miami over Indy.

Today is Edgar's birthday, by the way. He is 39.
Happy 39th, Edgar!

@realjohnboy,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDGAR!!!!

By the way we are headed for Angel Fire in the morning and won't be back until Monday. I don't know if we will have internet access there or not, or how closely we can follow the games on Sunday. But we'll be with you all in spirit. Go Hoot Owls.

Just saw the Happy Birthdays. Thanks. You don't know how nice it is to have electric and running water this year. Last time, we had just experienced hurricane Ike.
