@The Pentacle Queen,
Rape doesn't interest me Queenie. Why do you keep going on about it?

It's ridiculous.

@spendius,
I'm not 'going on about it'.
I only mentioned it in the first place because I misread your post, and I'm sorry, but your posts are hard to understand sometimes.
Then it kind of became the topic we were talking about, so then I added a few more posts, as you do.

Eh? Do I need to educate you about fantasy sex?

No. The real thing has always been quite enough for me osso.

I heard that fantasy kept escalating. Tights ripping gets cliched after a week or two. Hooks and eyes off corsets pinging on the lampshades after a month. Then what?

@The Pentacle Queen,
Did I say that? I think this is quoting another person.

At best a mess up of quoting.

@spendius,
A week might be a long time in politics, as Harold Wilson famously said, but it's sod all in a sex life.

@The Pentacle Queen,
I have more to say, but I don't want to get misquoted as saying what Hawkeye etc. says.

I'll let a bit of air clear.

@ossobuco,
Oh no, don't worry, I know you were quoting hawkeye. And then I copied the text and quoted it in a reply to you, but I missed of the bit where it said his name so it looked like i was talking to you. sorry x

Attitudes to gender started becoming confused and incoherent as soon as advertising was allowed on television.

Lord Thompson said that was a "licence to print money".

Which meant, when decoded, that the best brains in the country went into it after being educated at the expense of the public.

We have been going steadily madder ever since as is easily predicted given that the best brains in the country became graduates, with caps and gowns, in how to do the public's heads in using the latest techniques in psychology. Engineering was passed over to gentlemen from the far east as Auberon Waugh demonstrated every year in the Daily Telegraph at exam results time.

@The Pentacle Queen,
Oh, look, I'm getting quoted as Hawkeye.

Even I think that's funny.

Trust me, I'm no for rape.

What, do you mean when the media started influencing the public with the way it portrayed/constructed gender?
How do you think it changed?
Had attitudes to gender previously been coherent, whereas now they are not?

Ok, the last sentence is a bit rhetorical.
