A puppy has been born to us! He is a little black fur ball. He is and will remain on the small size. He looks like a little black bear. Thoughts on names (maybe meaning bear - but not bear as I don't I want to copy some one else).

@jespah,
When we get them - hubby saw him this morning. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to see him this weekend. He is still too young to leave his mommy.

I have heard that having a "t" or "sh" in the name is heard better by the dog.

I always had the name sheila or sheldon in mind for a dog.

As a fantasy geek, I've always been fond of mythical or fantastical names for pets. My suggestions:

Thor
Haffner
Alberich
Smeagol

Those are some good names - I like the unusual, but easy to say type. I think we have narrowed it down, but need to see what the kids like when they get out of school. The mom's owners said they will start calling him by his name once we decide.

I do know one thing - this will be one of his first presents:

@DrewDad,
Trouble could work - the breed tends to be mischievous.
