@ossobuco,
Speaking of living dolls, all this doll business meant in the best way, Diane took me to the clinic for the pre op this morning. I'm now happily conversant with not only the surgeon but his main assistant, whatever her title. She is sharp and nice and patient besides, as he is. They're both listeners. with good questions.
So re my greater expanding fears on the matter of the weeping eye and wildassed glare, he rules out (effectively anyway} that that is glaucoma or rp related. (These are my words - similar to which I mentioned before on the notes after the last visit for the pre op that wasn't pre - that much is a function of a surgically banged up eye) But the new thing today was his zoning in on this recent much bigger glare and tears routine as very likely being related to extreme dryness in a dry climate as well as with my particular eye - and that I should do the warm compresses at least 2x a day (easy, I like those, but I'd only been doing that when my eye hurt), keep taking fish oil (yes, I've been slack on that), and increase the virtual tear solutions - to stay ahead of the dryness. He didn't say the word proactive , a word I'm not fond of, but that was the idea.
I had been leaping to guessing the tear sloppy eye was related to a closed angle/duct that happens with some glaucomas. No, no, no, my eyes have the wrong conformation for that. Good then.
Next, there was to be a second surgery, the next one on 'lefty' and the lowering lid. And then that surgeon decamped for some other medical facility. I was bummed on that, had liked him, but, yes, there is a female surgeon who is doing them now at my hospital. This is good news too, as my peripheral vision should improve with that, and my vanity that has been flying away may come back a tad. Might even wear earrings again. Although, Dys, I did wear them in California from time to time.
