@Izzie,
Wait a bit, Iz, I will send a true om alert as the date gets closer. Or go ahead and om and put them in freezer bags. (I need a bigger freezer.. since I've taken up omming. I was om resistant at first, and have crossed that barrier.)

How are you doing yourself, kiddo?

@ossobuco,
Good thing Set just defrosted the freezer downstairs. Lotsa room for oms if anyone needs us to store a few extra, though we'll have a whack ready and waiting.

@msolga,
Well, I cancelled the earlier surgery because of sudden caution about medicare/medicaid/aarp picking up everything, and then I got situational depression behavior, I was a slug, and cancelled a second one. There has been no hurry for this surgery anyway, except that I should move ahead, grow up, etc.

On money, the 2004 simple cataract surgery followed by fixer surgeries killed any savings I had, even though I had blue cross insurance (high deductible, and still incredibly expensive). But this year I had gotten as far as pre op on the right eye surgery, so perhaps we don't need to do the measurements again, as the right eye is steady as she goes. Still, good to talk. Even if he measures again, no big deal.

And we'll have to talk about lefty.

@Izzie,
My home help is my friends. You know them, Dys and Di, Butryflynet who has volunteered help, BBB is a friend but I wouldn't ask, and Roger, who is hours away but I know would be there if I were in trouble. Also, my neighbors are clueless about all this, but are good people, particularly two of them.

Assuming the op is just routine, there won't be much need. If I need months of help, then I'll call on some other local resources. (Oh, lord, do I have to become catholic again?)

I do still see out of lefty - so even with a patch on righty, I can get around the house. I may be f'n depressed, though - that happened after the Santa Rosa emergency surgery when I was staying with friends in Napa. None of that immediate vision for me, it took a few months to focus well across the kitchen.
Still, I've fond memories of that time, friends are good.

If there is a vision delay after this surgery, I'll be a computer fool, as lefty is not a good reader. I could blow the text up, and would, but it would be tiring.
This might give others a rest.

Just Ommmmmmmmmmmmmed into a bag that this surgery will go tickety boo for you girl - off to put it in the freezer now... ready and waiting. Wink

Will be here - you know that.

@ossobuco,
I should add that I missed listing foxfyre. She and I are apparent total opposites, but we play well together (see fantasy sports). We haven't had coffee yet, but have talked about it. I don't expect to call her for help but I don't mean to exclude her from a local friend list.

Hope things work out okay and you're on the mend quickly. Will "om" from the far north as soon as I get my voice back! (Otherwise it sounds like I'm growling and I wouldn't want you to think that.)

Meanwhile I still can't see anybody's avatars no matter how many times I clear my cache, etc. Weird ... ( I was a cute little butter ball, eh?)

@Tai Chi,
Have you tried going to "My Preferences" at the very bottom of the page? I leads you to your preference page, and the avatar options are "No", "Large", and "Small". If your's is set to "No", you can save the trouble of clearing your cache one more time - whatever that means.

Thanks, Roger. You know me as the difficult person I am, and vice versa.

And vice versa on being there.
