the bee thing turned out to be true, something called colony collapse, , bees simply disappearing, commercial beekeepers were suffering losses of 30% or more, one of the theories is pesticides, interfering with the bees ability to navigate, they lose the hive, once the population is too low the queen abandons the hive, the hive is left empty, no dead bees, no bees at all
