To say the Jews could have changed history is as low as you can fall.
The old Nazis also blamed everything on the Jews.
What a anti semitic attitude to life.
If I am not mistaken,
I began this line of thought on this thread,
with my remark that:
"
Its too bad that the Jews did not have more guns."
I
ratify and re-iterate what I said.
I wish that the Jews had succeeded in defeating the nazis
before thay fully rose to power. There is no element of
blame
in this. I believe that any consideration of "blame" is ill-founded
and criticism on this basis on this thread was not justified.
I acknowledge that Mr. Saab may well be correct
that the Jews coud not have defeated the nazis with 1,702 guns.
In retrospect, I wish that thay had been better armed in their own defense.
I prefer that history had been different, in that respect,
so that the Jews did not suffer under the Germans.
This has nothing to do with blame.
I do not allege that the Jews had a duty to be armed
(tho I have been reliably informed that ancient Jewish scripture
defines it as a sin for a Jew to fail to defend his life if attacked).
I am not anti-Jewish, having had Jewish girlfriends,
some of whom lived with me for several years, in addition to my having hired a Jewish friend
(the 2nd brightest fellow I ever met in Mensa) into my law firm,
and subsequently inviting him into partnership in my firm.
I note, incidentally, that the early Christians considered themselves to be Jews.
One thing that did
NOT happen, judging from the Bible, is that
Jesus never said to his followers: "hay guys, u know the Jews gave me a hard time,
so let 's not be Jews anymore" the same way that Barry Goldwater did not exhort his followers:
"hay, u know the Americans did not elect me President, so let 's not be Americans anymore."
The moral of the story is:
this is not a matter of
BLAME.
It is a matter of history possibly turning out better
under other circumstances.
