Yes, and so did my favorite ex-Astro on the Cubs, Moises Alou, just now to make it 5-3.

Oh boy!! Very Happy Very Happy

(I actually wrote the incredulous "Wood homered??!!" before I'd seen your post, PDiddie -- pitchers homering is, er, RARE.)

I'm here.

Unfortunately, Kerry Woods is gone.

I will continue to cheer the Cubbies on, Sozobe, but just for tonight. If they make it to the series against the Sox, well, you know where my heart will be then. If the Yankees make it, I'll cheer for the Cubbies, or the Marlins, or ____________________. (yep, fill in the blank, ANYONE BUT !).

And if they don't, it's not my fault. Sad

Thanks, fbaezer, for your explanation. It's the first one I've heard that I can truly accept and understand.

However, I'm neither arrogant nor a sore loser. If the Yankees don't win the pennant, I'll survive. Haven't decided yet whom I'll root for. Probably Boston. Despite all the negative remarks, I think it would be nice for that team to win. It's been a long time. And the Marlins are a team without history.

I don't have any tranquilizers in the house. I'm not sure I'll be able to watch the game without them. Good luck Boston people. May the best team win.

I like what fbaezer had to say also Roberta. And never take what others feel for your "sports team" personally. I care very much for you! Besides, I am also a big

fan! Nationally we have a tendency to be "hated". Possibly because we have 7 championships out of the last 53 years (hopefully one more this year) - I think that is because we are such a relatively small school in a small state not on either coast or connected to the deep south or great lakes region.

Anyway, for professional sports - I go for Houston teams!
