Good earthturn, wildclickers

Dan, from the Smithonian Magazine regarding the return of the Navaho to their land after so much suffering. sad

"The Navajo returned to their land along the Arizona-New Mexico border hungry and in rags. Though their territory had been reduced to an area much smaller than what they had occupied before the exodus to Bosque Redondo, they were one of the few tribes that were allowed to return to their native lands. The U.S. government issued them rations and sheep and within a few years the Navajo had multiplied the numbers of their livestock and began to prosper once again. Today the Navajo Nation is the largest Native American community in the United States."

@Stradee,
Stradee and everybody - great news (lol, writing on someone else's tiny screen, originally wrote "great mews", keep reading to see why it's so funny) and no I am really, REALLY writing draft of letter in re darling Malamute (will submit early next week for comments right here, thanks in advance btw, before mailing to everyone and his kid brother) BUT am for weekend at home in Long Island - stunningly beautiful home with in-house theater and indoors pool kept at 85 degrees - at last!!!!!) AND saw last night movie not yet released in theaters, just at this house for private showing, with the most stunningly beautiful HORSES
http://www.horseboymovie.com/

I'm not going to ruin the plot by telling you, but I instantly thought of Stradee and many other people loving animals so I want you to please look up the link and if possible the movie as well - am going to post a link here to one of Boomerang's threads, know she's done deep thinking and research into another subject of the movie, the man-animal connection eluding many of us but accessible to some of us especially children defined as "with problems, or with issues, or some other such blah blah." Thanks for your patience, sorry for hurried typing - and YES see that movie Smile Smile

@High Seas,
Hoft, you are officially a member of the- words- from -the- ether club, where Stradee, (holding the worlds record for typos) welcomes you. Very Happy

OMG! The house!

(closes eyes and meditates... win lottery win lottery win lottery win lottery...)

So good of you to write letters for dear Malamute. Definitely getting the word out will bring attention to the many needy homeless animals, as well as finding helpful solutions.

Fabulous movie trailer, H! Thanks so much for posting the link! I've sent the link to FB also. Truly a good message.

With the movies proceeds, the couple can buy their child a doggie, a "mew" and of course - the horse ranch. Very Happy

Did I tell you of my experience as a small child in W. Texas? My Mom took me and my brothers to see a real Native American Navajo Hogan (those round homes built of logs with a rounded top). At the site was a Native American lady sitting in front of two upright poles with a cross pole on top. In the middle was a beautiful blanket she was weaving. That was really interesting to me.

I've never been inside a Hogan, but was fortunate to have sat in an authentic American Indian tepee once. Quite amazing.

So true - can't forget the purpose of the thread! Must get new password for clickety-clickety-click site (Danon will understand the abbreviation, C3S, as per C3I, sorry if cryptic to others, am in initials mode) but will get new one asap and send password to Stradee so she can do my C3S duty when I'm off internet postings - have been off for a few days due to travel. Will keep reading all your interesting posts - and what's with the "@" on top of posts? Gotta check it out, it's a new feature. Edit: also, the C3S >

> no longer requires a password - promise to do my C3 every time I log into public internet, though Smile
