@dyslexia,
If you don't do every bitty thing the physios and docs tell you to do, I am coming down there and kicking you in your non-existent bum. Or I would if I liked you.

@dyslexia,
Great! You wasted no time signing back on as soon as Diane brought your laptop over. I hope you are comfortable, Dys.

ps. now I have pneumonia along with everything else, but doc says probably walking in 6 months and no more injections in tummy after Sat. (whew)

Now, why am I sitting around wondering why pneumonia is supposed to be good? And still wondering why injections into the stomach are better than, say, swallowing it - whatever it is.

Betting Bob is walking in a lot less than 6 months, though.

re stomach injections -- I'm guessing heparin to prevent post-surgical clotting. They're painful as hell but that's where they have to give them.

@JPB,
You're right or close, jpb.

I shot myself in the stomach once, when I had to take lupron. I have to say, much easier than poking oneself in the finger, in my opinion - especially repeatedly.

He wasn't complaining about that today..

Well, that's hardly a threat, Bethie & Boida.

He might just do that so you'd come. Wink

Yikes! Just caught up on the last few days' news. I'm glad I missed it -- it's a lot easier to read it having already read the latest "everything is ok" posts.

Maybe I've been watching too much house, but do they think the broken hip was throwing clots that caused Dys's stroke-like symptoms?

@chai2,
Closely watching any thread on blood thinners.
Im taking coumadin and it seems to be working (so far). I dont like the side effects of easily bruising while trying to lead an active life. I look like somebody beat me up about the arms and legs because Im always bumping into big rocks or logs and **** like that out in the field. This AM I took a header down a slew that was covered by a rickity mine wall . I know Im gonna have some black and blue marks come Sunday into next few weeks.

What other side effects does your husband have that we should alert for.

I dont care much for you either chai

noone has mentioned either possibility.

I had a knee replacement 9 months ago and was on a self-administered (needle in the abdomen) blood thinner (Lovenox) for several weeks afterwards, just based on that surgery. No detectable side effects, but then I wasn't doing much during those weeks.

Hang in there Dys.

The ad at the bottom here says "Overcome Dyslexia at home". Easy for them to say.

Hey Bob. For not a single laudable reason, I've had trouble mustering up the cojones (or somethings) to call you at home through all of this. I hate communication by phone at any time and this is at any time as was yesterday. With crap that's been going on here, I haven't been able to come down and tease you either which I'd have been quite happy to do if able. But you oughta know we think about you each day for a brief time.
