@JeffreyEqualityNewma,
We all yack. That you are the voice of wisdom and others are just yacking is a proposition wherein the conclusion is inherent in the premiss and thus, according to all professors of logic, meaningless and thereby objective yacking.

Could you not at least try to respond to the post you are pretending to do and thus cheating viewers of an answer. It was a simple enough question. I'm sorry that you are in such a state that it has rattled you enough to make a fool of yourself.

@RexRed,
If you know anything about Anthony Kennedy, I'm proud to say he's from Sacramento, the same city where I was born and grew up. From my reading of his biography, I have great faith in his decisions in the SC. He has been "given" the deciding power on most issues that comes in front of the SC, because the other judges are locked into their politics, and not for the interest of following the US Constitution.

Although the "experts" seem not sure about how Kennedy will vote on gay marriage, I have the strong feeling that he will vote for equality over party politics.

I hope I'm right.

Is this your question below that you think holds true wisdom?

Quote:
How do you know it is not the militant, "in your face", arrogant promotion of homosexuality that is causing the attacks rather than the homosexuality itself?

How many militant, "in your face", arrogant promotion of homosexuality homosexuals have you personally encountered in your life time? And no I am not talking about the time you went into the wrong pub that you have not forgotten.

Jesus' "crown of thorns" represents portraying gay marriage with hate rather than love. Was Jesus' bride, his crown, a curse or a blessing? Others think gay marriage is a thorn but in truth it is a rose and flower of love.

@RexRed,
The way I "see it," it's about love of two humans that wish to live their lives together. Why others do not want to "approve" of this relationship is based solely on their religious' teachings. Their brainwashed hatred is one of the reasons why I'm an atheist. Their "god of love" doesn't exist.

I've had arguments with my sister about this issue, and she tells me "they love the sinner, but not the 'sin.' If that's so, why are they so hell-bent to deny them equal rights? They just can't see their own contradiction.

Which is self-evidently a ridiculous reason.

What equal rights are denied homosexuals? They have no right to declare themselves married when marriage is a life-long relationship between a man and a woman sanctified by a minister of religion. If some judge who likes seeing his name up in lights takes a fancy to changing that to a range of whimsical and attention seeking fancies what difference does it make?

I cannot get the governments records to show I am female, or am black, or French or am 5ft. 8ins. or have blue eyes or am a brain surgeon by trade.

What right have homosexuals to abolish the traditional and accepted meaning of so important a word? They point to that importance by seeking to be defined by it. They have done it before with other important words.

You get dictionaries being different in different areas of one nation.

What right did the slaves have wanting to abolish the traditional and accepted meaning of so important a word as slavery? Religious nuts also used the bible to try and stop the abolition of slavery so I would not expect any less when it comes to the love of two people of the same sex.

@reasoning logic,
The love of two people is transient and is struggling to survive the absence of the shared bond of parenthood. There are duties in being married as well as rights. Slavery is a condition unwilled and has nothing to do with this case.

It is homosexuals who are seeking to destroy the married person's right to have exclusive use of the term to designate a particular social relation.

What equal rights are homosexuals denied. They are simply demanding to use a designation which they do not qualify for.

Why I can't imagine. The only homosexuals demanding such a right are those doing so. The rest probably think they are ridiculous.

What vows were Californian homosexuals required to submit to in the period leading up to Prop 8?

They don't even know who those people are, but want to "control" their love.

Go figure.

@cicerone imposter,
What a stupid thing to say. If the "they" are those who do want to control the love of others what have you said other than nothing.

Who on this thread seeks that? It certainly isn't me. Reserving the word marriage for a man and a woman has nothing to do with controlling anybody's love.
