@Walter Hinteler,
Who is Obama? Thats what all this is about, Walter, if you haven't figured it out. People are confused, because nobody knows for sure, except him. Thus we have speculation, can you blame people?

I know for sure, Okie. There's no confusion about it. Just hate and intolerance from your side, which has been whipped up by your leaders. Sad.

@Cycloptichorn,
You are mistaking not being a sucker for being hateful and intolerant. Sad, is the truth.

@okie,
The double standard is alive and well. The hateful incessant attacks on Sarah Palin, 7-1 negative imagery against the GOP candidates on the late night circuit, the unconscionably cruel ads run by the Democrat surrogate organizations like Moveon.org, and outbursts of hate speech at McCain/Palin rallies are mostly ignored by the media. But let some nut shout out a stupid comment at an Obama rally/speech and that nut will be engineered to google up at the top and will be front page news and featured for days as illustrative of what McCain supporters are. In fact the media exaggeration is amazing. Like that 'kill him' remark that has been so prominently featured but nobody can find a single tape illustrating it?

@Foxfyre,
Foxfyre, the future is looking more troublesome all the time. This election is bringing out the worst. The Democrats are no longer pretending to want to be honest, and I predict the Marxists/ Socialists may come out of the closet sooner than I ever expected. Boldness is the word amongst the left these days. They are gaining confidence that they are getting things to go their way. America as we know it may have its days numbered. A decade, or two, I don't know. I want to be optimistic, but all of this is very worrisome.

I don't even know why I participate on this forum, these people are hopeless. The America I grew up in is no longer the America of today. Common decency and honesty are fighting for its very life.

Alot of this is happening because we have a party and a candidate, the Democrats, not being forthright about their true beliefs. Thats why alot of people on our side are running scared and very nervous about the messiah. He is slick and coy, not open, he is a closed book.

Yeah, it's common decency to compare your political opponents to Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton.

It's honesty to say that he palled around with terrorists.

It's forthright to ask 'who is Obama?' when he's been running for president for two straight years.

It's a 'closed book' to have written two books about your thoughts and beliefs.

You're full of ****, Okie. Your side is losing. That's the problem for you. Not a problem with Obama, a problem with Conservatism. The old arguments aren't working any longer, and it sucks for your side. I understand why you're pissed and frustrated; but enough with the projection, mkay?

@Walter Hinteler,
Do you righties REALLY belive that Obama consorts with terrorists?

Or is it just the few ,less intelligent ones, ones who dont ask the necessary questions.

McCain has resorted to a sound byte generator with fuel that comes right out of the Rove playbook..

Im wondering whee this country is gonna be in 20 years? We certainly wont be able to continue with these two disparate views on the same subjects. The fact that noone is volunteering to be at least more analytical is what scares me. Im seeing people who I think are fairly intelligent come up with these "terrorist" sound bites and ACORN ****. (both candidates have ties to ACORN)

@Cycloptichorn,
Look, sir, when your party is engaged in marginalizing decent and honest citizens, you are playing a dangerous game. Obama would probably have trouble getting a security clearance, but you are running this man for president. You guys have lost all sanity.

McCain is making a tactical error focusing exclusively on Ayers. What he should be doing is painting the larger picture that includes Ayers and Rezko and Daley and Wright and Father Pleger and any number of other radical, extremist, racist, anti-American, and dishonest characters that Obama used to push himself up the political ladder and are illustrative of the kind of people he might look to for counsel and assistance in an Obama administration. It isn't any particular individual, but the sum total that brings Obama's judgment and character into question. If he had no problem with any of these people before they became political liabilities to him, why should we believe that he has any problem with them now?

@Foxfyre,
Sigh, what ever happened to focusing on issues, and not character?

If McCain had been a strong and stable leader during the financial troubles starting a month ago, he wouldn't have to be doing any of this...

@Foxfyre,
Campaigns have advisers. If you want to see the kind of people Obama or McCain will turn to, just look at who is on their staff or who is acting as an unpaid adviser. It is rather silly to think any candidate will turn to someone that held a fund raiser or served on a board with them a few years ago when they need advice on a major issue.

I think Obama responded to the urban terrorist association crap. It appears that some of our commited GOP members refuse to believe. ISSUES? Ha!, Gramps doesnt want anyone to focus on issues , just muck.

I agree completely with Foxfyre. We haven't seen enough character attacks by McCain yet. He still talks, occassionally, as if Obama is even a legitimate candidate for the presidency.

McCain should widen the character attacks on Obama. There's no time to talk about stuff like the economy, or what's happening in Afghanistan, or whether or not all Americans should have health care, or be able send their kids to college.

No. McCain should talk about Rezko and Wright. And about Daley. And about ACORN. He should talk about how Obama, personally, is planning to steal the election. And how he's planning to take everybody's guns away. About how he would meet with Chavez and Ahmadinejad. How he is palling around with terrorists.

Wait. He's already done those last two things.

Well, he should talk about it even more.

And then, he should talk about the connection between Marxists and Black Liberation Theology. He should tell everyone that Michelle Obama, in her DNC speech, used vocabulary that has is commonly used by Marxists and Communists. He should talk about Kenya, and Odinga. He should remind people that Obama is the Big Unknown. That there's really nothing, absolutely nothing that we know about Obama. He's the quintessential Manchurian candidate.

McCain should remind people that 'Barack' is not an American name. Not to mention 'Hussein'. Come to think about it, he should always refer to Obama as 'B. Hussein Obama'.

I really hope McCain will stop being such a softie on Obama. He should really fight harder. Get in touch with his base. Bring up the important issues. That's what he should do.

ohhh.. okay father michael PFLEGER. hmmm. now from a quick scan of stuff linked under PLEGER, and then PFLEGER, i find the usual pedestrian stuff about a catholic priest involved in community outreach and marching to end violence. he apparently doesn't care for rap music, either.

how surprising that a man of the cloth would be an activist.

i thought you liked rthat kind of thing, foxy. wuzzup wi' dat? Wink

@old europe,
They're still trying to lower the bar. Palin is even successful in getting the conservative base to think she's better qualified than McCain for the top seat.
Who knows? She might be sitting in the oval room seated at the desk where Lincoln, JF Kennedy, and GW Bush sat.
