Mame, I just realized your signature says you're naked. In that case, you can stay with me as long as you like.

Ah, I can always count on you, Nick.

@Mame,
Okay, call me a crazy vagabond, but I'm doing it. I rented a storage locker and some movers so as of Nov 1st, my stuff will have a permanent home.

I gave my notice and will be out of the apt and homeless as of Nov 6th which is when I visit Alex in Calgary for a couple of months.

I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm 50 for cryin' out loud. But my ex thinks I'm nuts so that means I'm moving in the right direction Smile

@Mame,
Impress me, I moved three times when I was 58 and again since then. Which is to say, have fun, gather some rosebuds.

@Mame,
I've been looking at mobile kitchens. would your wildest fantasy run to having your own mobile kitchen and contracting it and yourself of course to the companies you work for instead of relying on them to provide the setup.
especially when it may not be as suitable as first described.

@dadpad,
Speaking of mobile kitchens:

You could be a caterer on the go:

And somewhere to relax after a long day:

(It's called a T@B)

(Can't be any more basic than some of your camps Very Happy )

@Tai Chi,
Oh my god.
You are a freaking genius. She could absolutely make money while she is traveling with a set up like that. Advertise herself for small home parties, or even big parties if she likes...

THAT is a reallllly cool idea.

@shewolfnm,
That IS a great idea - but practically speaking, where would I put all the food? Smile Something to think about, for sure.

We're leaving tomorrow, we're leaving tomorrow, we're leaving tomorrow!!! One more dinner and one more breakfast - ha!

@dadpad,
Another problem, Dadpad, is that most of these camps are in the hinterland, so that kitchen wouldn't work. But it's an idea I can explore for other purposes. That pic Tai Chi posted looked really cute.

I'm also open to doing things other than cooking.

@Mame,
Good luck Mame! I moved to southern California a few years ago when I was 44. I now live in a wonderful home, make lots of money (usually) and enjoy beautiful weather year round. A change of life is good at any age.

But, if you're still naked, come on over!
