@okie,
Quote:
ican, we can only hope now that the Dems do not steal this election. The corruption is unprecedented, and ACORN is one biggee, and they are intricately tied to the Obama people.

How silly can you be? If Mickey Mouse shows up to vote in Florida, I don't think he'll be allowed to cast his vote for either Obama or McCain.

ACORN hired 13,000 workers nationwide to register voters. Without doubt, there may be several workers among those 13,000 who did not want to earn their pay by registering real voters--or perhaps <gasp>--McCain operatives infiltrated ACORN and submitted thousands of fake registrations to discredit ACORN. OMG! Let's all engage in conspiracy theories!

Alas, however, the LAW requires that EVERY registration form completed by a registration worker must be turned into the state even if the registration is obviously a fake. ACORN complied with the law and has made enormous effort to alert state registration officials concerning suspect registration forms. That you find ACORN's compliance with the law to be the equivalent of "unprecedented corruption" makes YOU look very silly indeed.

@Debra Law,
Debra, you and many lefties have lost all respect. I think I was wrong to think I could debate reasonably with lefties. You are to be defeated, not debated with. And corruption must be punished. Voter fraud should be repudiated, and it starts with registration, and those that are responsible should be thrown in jail, period. I am sorry you don't agree with the rule of law. Sad for a lawyer, very sad.

I wonder if one week from today, the next President of the United States will be announced as elected, or if we will have a repeat of the drawn out processes of challenges, recounts, lawsuits, and court decisions following the 2000 election? As more and more ACORN fraud is revealed and the more the issue of Obama's birth certificate is getting a lot of play on the blogs, and the tighter the polls get, it does make one wonder.

Regardless of who wins, I hope none of us want the country to go through that again. It makes it much much tougher for th elected candidate to be able to govern effectively.

Today, however, Gallup has Obama with a 2-pt lead; Rasumussen has him with a 3-pt lead; both within the margin of error. The polls have been sufficiently unreliable in the past, that I don't put a great deal of stock in them at this time, but it does appear to be getting closer.

On some issues, McCain is gaining something of an advantage. From Rasmussen today:

Quote:
McCain Trusted More on Taxes and Economy
Wednesday, October 29, 2008

After several weeks of John McCain’s campaign attacks on Barack Obama’s tax plan and idea of “spreading the wealth around”, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds voters trust McCain more than Obama on taxes, 47% to 45%.

Two weeks ago, Obama had a one point-advantage on the issue of taxes and a month ago, he had a three-point edge. The last time McCain had the advantage on this issue was September 14, just before the collapse of Lehman Brothers started the meltdown on Wall Street (see trends).

Men favor McCain by a 51% to 43% margin when it comes to taxes, while women still trust Obama more, 48% to 43% (see crosstabs).

Voters now trust Obama overall on six out of ten electoral issues tracked by Rasmussen Reports. Two weeks ago, the Democrat holding the edge on seven issues. A month ago, Obama had the advantage on every issue.

McCain also has gained ground as the candidate to trust on economic issues. Forty-eight percent (48%) now trust the Republican hopeful more than the Democrat while 47% hold the opposite view. This is the first time McCain has led on the issue that has hurt his campaign since September 17. One month ago, Obama held a nine-point advantage when it came to economic issues.

The candidates are now tied on the issue of the War in Iraq, with each man trusted more than the other by 47% of voters. Earlier in the year, McCain held solid leads on the issue. However, two-weeks ago, Obama had a one-point edge. Men trust McCain more than Obama when it comes to Iraq, while women trust Obama.

Obama continues to hold solid advantages on his party’s strong points, such as education, health care and environmental issues.

Debate reasonably? Since when have YOU ever been reasonable? ROFL

If it makes you feel better about the "rule of law," then throw Mickey Mouse or Bart Simpson or Wiley Coyote in jail when they show up to vote. Rolling Eyes

It's the outrageous lies, smear campaigns, and voter suppression engaged in by the "righties" that concerns me. It's the "righties" who are being associated with EVIL and UNLAWFUL tactics. It's the "righties" who have lost respect. Your evil "righty" ways have been unmasked. The American people see you for who you are. "Righties" are power hungry, selfish, greedy, control freaks & hypocrits who will do ANYTHING to steal the election. OUTRAGEOUS.

As you can see, we can both play the "righties" against "lefties" and vice versa game. Instead of responding to my post, you chose to STOOP to HATEFUL DIVISIVENESS. When you became UGLY and said, "You [lefties] are to be defeated, not debated with," you engaged in intolerable divisiveness. Hopefully, November 4, 2008, will mark the ending days of your brand of hateful divisiveness.

Obama offers us hope and unity. That's something you desperately reject as you cling to your hate. But most Americans are weary of your brand of politics and we want change.

This almost doesn't need a caption. It may mean little or nothing, but it also might give a clue about how seriously Obama takes his job, and explain how some think he hasn't done it very well.

@Foxfyre,
Fox, do you have any clue about the guy's schedule? Perhaps he was late to the meetings due to scheduling conflicts with other duties.

Nope, you don't know.

Just more **** smearing from you.

Will you promise to end this once he's elected, and focus on criticisms of his actions after that point?

@Foxfyre,
So, from this video I can surmise that Obama apologized for being late to 2 hearings in 2005, 3 in 2006 and 3 in 2007, and oh yeah, his cell phone went off in one hearing in 2006. That's supposed to mean what to me? We're down to criticizing him for tardiness?

@Debra Law,
Quote:

Constitution of the United States of America
Amendment XVI (February 3, 1913)
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census of enumeration.

This amendment authorizes direct taxes on the incomes of each resident of the USA, and not on the residents themselves in each state. Taxes on the incomes of the residents of the USA were also to be uniform not uniformly non-uniform per Article I. Section 8.[/quote]

Quote:
Article I. Section 2. (March 4, 1789)... direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several states which may be included within this union, according to their respective numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole number of free persons, including those bound to service for a term of years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.
But this was changed by Section 2 of the 14th Amendment (July 9, 1868).

Quote:
Article I. Section 9. (March 4,1789)... direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several states which may be included within this union, according to their respective numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole number of free persons, including those bound to service for a term of years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.
But this was supplemented by the 16th Amendment.

It is now clear from all Obama and his associates have said and done that Obama and his associates are gangsters planning to steal our money and our Constitutional rights if Obama is elected president.

How are you going to respond to the 'gangsters,' old man?

I predict that you will do nothing, for at the end of the day, you - like so many tax protesters - are all talk and no action whatsoever.

Do you really think McCain and his associates will abolish income taxes? Really? I think they plan to "steal" your money too! Quick! Hurry up and bury your dollars in your back yard before it's too late!

Hey kid, review the history of the development and announcement of the Declaration of Independence (adopted July 4, 1776) , plus what followed up to the adoption of the Constitution of the United States (adopted March 4, 1789), plus its first ten amendments (ratified 12/15/1791), and its amendments 13 (12/6/1865), 14 (7/9/1868), 15 (2/3/1870), and 19 (8/18/1920).

Then you will learn what WE (including this old buzzard) will do to rectify the violations of the Constitution of the USA since 1913, if Obama is elected president.

ENOUGH IS TOO MUCH!

No, you won't. Because you are all talk, and no action. I don't believe for a second that you have any real intention of revolt, and if you did, you'd be slapped down instantly.

And you know it, so why the angsty outcries? OMG Obama is going to raise taxes back to where Clinton had them, and far below where other Republican presidents have had them, in your lifetime! The Horror!

Get off it, Ican
