@Tai Chi,
That 45 rpm one would make a great retirement gift for boomers.

@Butrflynet,
Yeah, I'd guess you'd have to be a certain age or a music nut to recognize it. Having said that, my older son wants one for his birthday with a turquoise centre -- but then, he is a music nut and inherited his dad's old turntable.

@Tai Chi,
I used to have some earrings made out of them back in the day.

@ehBeth,
Re: the name tag, I put my name on with Dynotape so I can re-gift it when I leave. I'll have to find the right rebel, though, as management's comment was, "That's not regulation." (Obviously I was hoping for, "how can I order some?") Maybe I'll just keep it as a souvenir...

@Tai Chi,
The rpm bolo is an exceedingly strong piece.
Like all else too (and you know me, I'd tell you.) I enjoy the name tag thingy.

@Tai Chi,
I showed the name tag to a colleague - she thought it was a Cdn Tire anniversary gift that had been given out by the company - she was disappointed when I told her that Crappy Tire wasn't going for it.

@ehBeth,
The irony is, that the School of Design and the Visual Arts is in a building named after the previous owner of the particular franchise for which I work, while the jewelry wing is named after the Billes family. Truth is stranger than fiction!

@Tai Chi,
Interesting. A guy could wear that.

Update: so I'm now sleeping with an award winning goldsmith. The award was for his work with stones (lapidary). I'm going to miss the college guy; the real world will have it's challenges, I suspect.
