@mac11,
You should start a thread, I'm very interested, as you know. I'll try my best not to post on it like crazy. (I talk too much, I worry me to death..) I wish Loislane17 (not quite sure of the name she used on a2k) was still around, she knows those cities very well. I see her on italy related websites or the nytimes frugal traveler comments once in a while under her real life name. Anyway, she's a bundle of good information I trust. Hmm, I might do an a2k search re her posts.
Also, I may find the Venice website I saw her on and give you the link sans her name. Nag me if I forget. (The commentary on it last I looked was about the new Calatrava pedestrian bridge...)

On food..

Monday, the day after the pizza festivities..

morning coffee and a piece of cinnamon toast with, erm, 1/3 tablespoon butter

made a soup concoction from some pizza topping leftovers (hot and mild ital sausage, a lot of a carton of sliced crimini mushrooms, and some diced tomatoes) mixed with leftover indulgent fettucine alfredo (butter, cream, parmesan, salt, lots of pepper, smidge of chile pepper), and a bunch of water.
OK, that makes a delicious soup. Fat city.

Then I got an invite to go to a local italian restaurant with Thomas and Dys:
had a crisp salad (lettuce, carrots, cucumber, cauliflower, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, good dressing) and an order of ravioli al pesto - of which I ate only a few, not being that hungry (took doggie box).

2 glasses Teruzzi and Puthod Vernaccia di San Gimignano

(so, guess what I had for breakfast today... three of the ravioli. Still have another pile of them.)

I am looking forward to the Italy thread.
Osso, you do not talk too much as far as I am concerned, rave on, please. I've said this before but I really do admire your mix'um-gether'm ways of making good food for yourself. Pizza toppings evolve into a peppery soup.....who knew?

B: normal. ah
L: fruit salad while listening to the boss describe his trip to a wedding in Vail. Um.
E: good workout at gym. trotted about 2 miles
D: Chicken sandwich with roasted garlic, tomatoes and lettuce and a glass of wine. Chocolate cookie.

@mac11,
I suppose I should tell about Sunday and the pizzas.

I don't know what I ate that morning.. Coffee and something.

Then I hit the market for pizza toppings, and came back and made the dough and gathered the the new toppings and some I already had for the mise en scene for the pizza eaters (Dys, Diane, Thomas, Roger, m'self, over at D & D's house). I dished a goodly amount of things to choose from as I can always find a way to use the leftovers.
The list - crumbled blue cheese, walnuts, caramelized onions, and what passes for fresh mozzarella; mozzarella balls, and mozzarella slices, and italian fontina; pepperoni, hot italian sausage de-tubed and squeezed into little balls, same with mild italian sausage; spicy green pitted olives, mild black pitted olives, and oil brined non pitted olives; diced tomatoes very well drained, artichoke pieces, sweet red pepper slices, sliced crimini mushrooms; chopped basil, chopped fresh rosemary, minced garlic in little dishes. So, with the pizzas rolled out to be about seven inches round, one could put different toppings together..

That was fun.. I wasn't hungry later.
Oh, and I had a Fat Tire beer.
