No real exercise these days - this is a big problem. Went grocery shopping today.

2 cups multi grain, high fiber tastes like crap and 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
16 ounce cuppa joe, black

14 ounce glass of water

4-5 cups of mixed dark greens
1/2 cup non-brined feta
6-7 toasted bagette slices (croutons)
2 tablespoons tuna salad (didn't taste good enough to eat more)
Non-fat vinagret

14 ounce of homemade lemonade

three falafel balls
2 tablespoons of tahini
1/2 cup humos
2 5-inch pitas

14 ounce glass of lemon water

1 bottle beer (may have another one)

Echoing cheers to jes. Amazing effort.

Yesterday was spent working on the Project From Hell. I suddenly realized that it is August already and I haven't seen the sun since my trip to New Orleans in May. That's going to change. Beginning yesterday, I pledge to myself to take at least a 30 minute break from the computer during the daylight hours and get my arse outside - even if I have to take work out to the patio and do it there. Mr B and I walked around the block at dusk. It was nice seeing the bats overhead picking off mosquitoes so they couldn't get to us.

Food:
first thing - 8 oz cranwater with 1 TBS ground flax seed
coffee - black, unsweetened

breakfast - 1 ea. peach and nectarine, 1/2 cup ea. fresh blueberries and pineapple.

lunch - 1 cup steamed artichoke hearts with lemon juice, 2 oz turkey breast

dinner - 2 broiled ciabatta bread, olive oil, sundried tomato paste, boursin cheese, smoked salmon (open-faced sandwiches)

I'll join in this evening - unless Tropical Storm Edouard knocks out the power earlier than expected.

I will probably NOT get Pop-Tarts from the vending machine today for fear
of writing it down here.

Not that I would ever do that anyway...

Tell them you've moved. Er, the pop tarts. Actually, the demise of the pop tarts was a big part of my switch to a healthier lifestyle. They really soar if you flip 'em like a frisbee.

Thanks very much for your input.
Salads and fruit salads are on tap for later this week.
The seltzer contains no salt, no sugars, just seltzer. The Gatorade I use as re-hydration during and after my runs.
Water is not sufficient.
The diet cokes are probably inexcusable.

The cheeseburger (I could have left off the cheese) is served without bun or mayo with a side of tomato and onion that I left off the list but did consume.

Think I'm done with food for today. I did 3 hours of intensive gardening (removing sod and hauling cobble stones).

two slices 12-grain toast with butter
bigass coffee, black

10 ounces yogurt drink (calcium, vitamins, lots of sugar)
water with an emergenCe packet (part of 32 ounces)

.45 lbs of mixed fruit (berries and pineapple)
egg and cheese on a bagel (D&D, loads of carbos)
a donut (A donut! I have one 3 times a year..... really!)

water with an emergenCe packet (finished the 32 ounces)
8 ounces chocolate almond milk (calcium, vitamin d, etc)

16 ounces lemon water

Pizza with spinach (vitamin A, calcium and Iron)
16 ounces lemon water

I'll have one or two beers tonight.

Weird day.

I had failed to get a routine set of blood tests before my m.d. visit, so I went to the appointment hours early, groan. They were doing cholesterol in all its glory and wanted it fasting (not all docs do). But, since I last knew, they've cut down on staff, and no lab person there. So, I read a book. I had a frozen apple torta in a Target plastic bag for after the test, making me look fetching, and a good book to read.

As time goes by, I get hungrier, but less inclined for the ninth frozen package of the apple torta I made, which was too sweet in the first place. I craved a juicy hamburger.

More time went by. Got seen, I even lost weight - my home scale reads high, so I showed up at 148.8, a number I haven't seen for many a day. Makes me think less may be possible - in the good old days, I weighed something like 123 - 133. In the meantime, I'm thrilled with 148.8.

Vial taken by lab tech later. (Ah, lab techy memories..)

So, getting out of there, I was ravenous. So ravenous that I went to Spinns before I went grocery shopping. I'm not Spinns' biggest fan, but I like the people there a lot.

So, what do I do? I order breaded fish with mashed potatoes.

I know better than this. Breaded fish here in Abq is a visit to small concrete slabs with foul interiors. What was I thinking. Plus they must've been out of mashed potatoes, thus I got fries. And I declined a salad since I was already splurging for the fish stones and I love mashed potatoes.

* How to count calories? 1/4 breaded fish with most of the coating removed. 1/4 order french fries w/tartar sauce.

Got home, poured a drink. Looked at thread about Noddy's health. Poured another one.

* Glass filled with ice with finger of rum and top of chocolate milk, x 2.

* Later, two small dishes of braised beef in braising juice w/ some veggies. Ok, now that was actually delicious.
