Yesterday, Thursday, day 181, was wonderful, not a bit sorry.
Breakfast, 1/2 slice cracked wheat sourdough with a thin braunschweiger schmear.
Two coffees, you know the drill.
Lunch with D & D at the coffeeshop offshoot of Vivace, my co-favorite place in Abq.
Shared starter of the best fried clams I've had since a visit to Boston in the fifties, served with banana pepper cream dip.
1/2 a Corned beef on rye sandwich
with
1/2 a serving of the best french fries I've had since Rome - match stick, fresh, very hot, and even the "ketchup" was special, or seemed so.
Coffee, no sugar or cream
Slice of Lime Tart to die for, really. Or because of. Dense, rich. I saved half of that.
Dinner -
ate the leftovers from lunch
Two sm glasses of red
Cast Iron Cafe
The menus there are somewhat the same as in Italy - that is, that you find much of sameness in listings from town to town and city to city, within a region, but the variations in restaurants can be quite different.
This place cooks from scratch with good ingredients. I'm in love.
