@shewolfnm,
I've been fighting the soy-craze battle for as long as I've been posting on line. There are some soy things I LOVE, but I am extremely cautious about having them - mebbe 5 - 10 times a year. I've been vigilant about checking labels for soy-products since about 1978 when I first learned about some of the study results in an epidemiology course.

@ehBeth,
I spent my last shopping trip reading labels of things I normally dont buy ...and reading labels of things I do buy. It is scary.. how saturated things are with soy.
Soy bean oil, soy lectin , soy isoflavones.. ( cant spell the words.. but you know which ones I am talking about)

And the odd thing..
Might be a case of TMI for some.. so fair warning Smile

When I eat a lot of soy, I feel a difference in my menstrual cycle. No joke.
In the last two months when I was literally keeping a bowl of edemame beans on the table for snacks, they were .. harder.. or non existent. I have always been aware of the estrogen properties of soy... but .. I always thought that it wasnt enough to make a difference, or that it only made a difference in post menopausal women. That thought process has been blown out of the water now that I am really paying attention to what I eat. Now I have a nagging sinking in my gut because I raised Jillian on soy.

It is scary.. the amounts of bad things that are in "good food"

I just learned yesterday that HFCS has tested positive for Mercury.
Mercury and other heavy metals ( found in water, deodorants, vaccines, and a bunch of other things) are what is prominent in brain scans of elderly people with dementia, Alzheimers and other brain deteriorating diseases.

I could go on and on.. but I wont..

b- eggs 2 and some irish oatmeal with honey.

lunch- asters ethopian restaurant. WOW that place was good.
steamed cabbage, carrots and other things in a really nice light oil. Beef, lentils, collards, some really sour very good thin bread, and other things I can not pronounce , nor do I really know what they were.. but it was all really good and extremely light. Which I was surprised.

D- about 1.2 of a butternut squash and 3 or 4 steamed radishes

No snacks or nothing else for the day. Lunch was really big and I ate at 1:30 so i was not hungry for the rest of the day.

@OGIONIK,
Yup.
Letters, for those of us, like me, who are too, too busy to actually type out B R E A K F A S T. Very Happy

um
Yesterday was weird:
B: grapefruit, coffee, toast (Okay)
L: the rest of the tuna salad and a big BAGEL (hmm)
S: The guy around the corner brought pizza from his new restaurant for us to sample. It was awful. Very bready and loaded with Olive Oil and sage(?)... so I only had THREE pieces. (gah)
D: two slices of turkey, some olives and a little cheese.

182/185.5/-13.6 there's a pound up from last week...watching it today and tomorrow and Super Bowl Sunday.

I saw a list of 50 calorie snacks... tablespoon low fat Feta wrapped in endive leaf. That would be an unexpected Super Bowl Sunday offering, Joe. Others might be tearing the place apart looking for the wings and skins as you munch, though.

I've been so sick this week that I had a couple of 400-500 calorie days followed by a 900 calorie day followed by a 1000 calorie day. Would rather have been eating, but I did get a glimpse of 177.

Yesterday: banana, salad, 100 calorie chocolate covered pretzels (ouch! My throat!), 6 slices deli fresh shaved ham, 100 calorie cheese nips, another salad, 3 hot wings (Ouch! My throat!).

Day 26/178.2/-13.0 for the month.
