I've been slipping in reportage here.

So, Friday..

coffee, 1 cup, 1/2 tsp sugar

the last slice of the spinach ricotta mozza torte

a wedge of that farfalle and 4 cheeses casserole, a little water added, 2 sliced chopped garlic stuffed olives added, microwaved

dilute grape juice

2 glasses white wine

to top off a cheesy day, a slice of cheddar cheese to gnaw on while I made some more tortes.. which, by the time they were done, I skipped having a piece of. Plus I was over my cheese for the day.. or maybe the week.
Did have 1 hebrew national hot dog, plain.

coffee and splash of milk

piece of pear raisin torte

another coffee

beef adobo burrito (previously described)

then all hell broke loose - a tiny bag of expensive doritos (from a machine)

some junior mints. Ok, about twenty junior mints. Because a friend gave them to me so she wouldn't eat them. And they were there.

PS I got into (and zipped up all the way) a leather jacket I have not worn since 1991 or earlier. By the time it gets to be Spring weather when I can wear it, it'll be too big. Smile

I love that too big sensation...

which reminds me, it is probably time to give up one of my favorite coats. I bought it in the early seventies in a strange and wonderful clothing thrift type place on what was then an "iffy" set of blocks (where my then gallery was) in Venice, CA. It's a man's gabardine overcoat/trench (meant to go over, say, a man's suit), way too big then, and sometime later not thaaaaat much too big. I had the sleeves shortened as the coat didn't favor the rolled up sleeve look, and put some old badge type brooches on it (hard to describe). Let's say sort of funky, but just the sort of thing I saw not too long later that women were wearing in Paris. Maybe a Bogart in Casablanca type coat, except that I haven't seen that movie in years and may be imagining things.

So, now it is way too big again, although not so much so as in 1975.
Can I part with it? Yes. It's cold out and there's a vets agency here that collects mens clothes, and bedding. I suppose I should take the coat's photo before I put it in the yellow bag.

So, yesterday -

coffee, 2, with combo of 1 tsp sugar

tuna salad on 1 pumpernickel bread, 1 thin slice bread and butter pickle

more damn thin mints, but now they're gone

grape juice diluted

tilapia over bed of sauteed onions (olive oil)/whole grain mustard/squeeze of lemon/lots of black pepper - that's three tilapia filets and two large onions (I never saute enough), eating one of the filets and equal part of the onions, with a little bit of mashed potato on the side

Going to fool with the remaining tilapia and rest of the potatoes and (whatever, bread crumbs? egg white? milk?) to make fish patties and freeze them.

glass of cabernet

pellegrino

@ossobuco,
That's interesting.. the latin saying on the badge (ubique quo fas et gloria ducunt) is from the Royal Canadian Artillery. This is off topic, of course. If it gets more interesting, I'll start another thread.

@ossobuco,
Correction, Ubique is from the Engineers and quo (etc.) from the Artillery.

Didn't mean not to acknowledge your leather jacket, Jes. In fact, it was my thinking you could wear it as an Overjacket that sent me into this tangent. So, it's your fault.

I set a new goal today.
Fifteen pounds off in the next 100 days.
That will put me at 169.6 pounds and make the Surgeon General's criteria for being normal.

Here I go. (oh, vacation starts in 72 hours)

Jespah: I put on my swimtrunks from last year, the ones that I was a little embarrassed because they were so tight, um, they won't stay on now without being very securely tied. (Watch the news for headlines of Man Arrested AGAIN For Exposure in Florida.)

@Joe Nation,
Good for you on the, erm, possible public exposure. Today I'm wearing boots that used to be too tight in the calf. It's interesting finding these little closet surprises. I await that quote to be taken out of context.
