Sorry for the crepe/pancake flurry. I haven't had either in a while.

Yesterday:
Breakfast: Blueberries, fresh, 0.5 cup
Jam, 1 tbsp
Fiber One Country White Bread, 2 servings
Cheerios, 1 c
Jif Creamy Peanut Butter, reduced fat, 1 tbsp

Lunch: Turkey Burger, Jennie-O, 4 oz
Broccoli, 1 cup
Fiber One Country White Bread, 2 servings

Dinner: Dr. McDougall's Vegan Pilaf, 1 serving
Turkey (light meat), 1 cup (oh the turkey was fab; I need to make more)
Walnuts, .5 oz (7 halves)
Skim Milk, 1 cup
Broccoli, 1 cup

Snack: Strawberries, 1 cup
Yogurt, Stonyfield Farm fat free plain (6 oz)
Fiber One Oats and Chocolate Chewy Bar, 1 bar

CALORIES 1780 CARBS 264 g FAT 38 g PROTEIN 126 g Sodium: 2295 mg

Friday - Day 7 of a two week cleanse
B: 2 scrambled eggs with asparagus, mushrooms, broccoli, red pepper
S: apple
L: leftover broiled chicken breast, baked spaghetti squash with cinnamon and garlic, sauteed collard greens, cucumbers and tomatoes, lemon juice and flax oil dressing
S: no
D: nicoise-style tuna salad (no potatoes) with herb dressing, flax oil
A: no
E: no (rest day and crazy-busy with end of month stuff)
BP: 115/68

My official week 3 weigh-in day is Monday but today is the end of week one of a two week cleanse. I'm down 9 lbs for the week (5 new ones plus the 4 that I'd re-gained the week before) for a total of 10 lbs since starting on Feb 7. The rate of loss will slow down significantly in week two but I'm feeling great. I'm within 3 lbs of my TIA admission weight last March 7. I hope to get back there by that date and then slowly lose the 15 lbs that should allow me to get off bp meds completely. I hurt my foot earlier in the week and haven't walked since. Gonna try a stationary bike today.

Week 2: -1.7 lbs (-6.7 lbs total), walked 14.3 miles (34.3 miles total), s-bp down 17 pts. (30 pts total).

B: mixed berry smoothie with whey protein powder and flax oil
S: hard boiled egg
L: shrimp with baby bok choi, rapini, mushrooms, red pepper, onion, lemon juice
S: pear
D: turkery burger with peppers and onions, cabbage and fennel casserole with whole cranberries
A: no
E: 20 mins dance video, 30 mins stationary bike at low resistance
BP: 113/63

Week 2: -1.7 lbs (-6.7 lbs total), walked 14.3 miles (34.3 miles total), s-bp down 17 pts. (30 pts total).

Feta Cheese, 1 oz
Broccoli, 1 cup

Dinner: 14 oz mixed greens salad
Skim Milk, 1 cup
Broccoli, 1 cup
Brown Rice, medium grain, 0.5 cup
4 oz Cod

Snack: Strawberries, 1 cup
Yogurt, Stonyfield Farm fat free plain (6 oz)
Fiber One Oats and Chocolate Chewy Bar, 1 bar

CALORIES 1319 wayyyy too low CARBS 208 g FAT 24 g PROTEIN 76 g Sodium: 1645 mg

Starting Weight: 346 lbs.

So...it's been days since I posted but I can sum them all up with: toast and tea. And as of yesterday, applesauce. Battling some sort of bug complicated by a rotten sinus head cold. But hey, I'm down 2 pounds...(this is not an endorsement of the The Flu Bug Way to Weight Loss diet)

L: leftover lamb/eggplant casserole, steamed artichoke hearts with lemon juice and flax oil

D: sauteed scallops, baby bok choi, asparagus, mushrooms, ginger and onions; arugula side salad with herb dressing
A: no
E: 2.1 mile walk on the treadmill (didn't hurt my foot, YAY!), 20 min dance tape, 45 min therapy pool
BP: 105/59 (WOOHOO!!!)


Week 3: -4.3 lbs (-11.0 lbs total), walked 3.6 miles (37.9 miles total), s-bp down 4 pts. (34 pts total).

George I was able to kick the PopTart habit when they stopped making plain ones. Those icing and sprinkles covered ones just don't do it for me. Of course there are plenty of other temptations out there.

D: chicken tenders with cabbage, tomatoes, onions; steamed mustard greens with water chestnuts (not so good...)
A: no
E: 1.4 mile walk outside (slight ouch, not too bad - I went slowly), 20 min dance tape
BP: 121/64 - another reason to skip the mustard greens next time.


Week 3: -4.3 lbs (-11.0 lbs total), walked 3.6 miles (37.9 miles total), s-bp down 4 pts. (34 pts total).
