Joe's the man... I'm the fan.

To Jes ---
"On the 23rd I had a setback involving lightheadedness and made a trip to the ER, where they said I'd had a vasovagal episode, most likely due to not having eaten anything yet that day. I was feeling icky so I ate a lot of white food that day: untoasted bread, yogurt, plain skim milk, more banana."

This is soooo italian. I've not really cottoned onto to it, but at least some italians have a whole 'white food' thing going on if you are ill....

I have even less info re italians in boston and new york.

If only I could find a way to hard boil egg beaters. They're ok scrambled or in an omelet. Never tried them in recipes. Eggs are cheaper, although I do throw away a lot of yolks.

Okay. That does it. I only eat cheese that is actual cheese.

I remember once a long time ago some roommate bought American Cheese that came with each slice wrapped in plastic. I bet $5.00 ( a lot of money then) that we put a slice of some kind of Swiss that I had next to one slice of that stuff without the wrapper on a dish in the open air for eight hours and that he wouldn't be able to eat his and I would.
At the end of eight hours, the American 'cheese' looked like a little pool of yellowish oil with a small piece of plastic in it. The swiss was soft but nicely edible.
BTW I lost the bet. He ate the greasy plastic gunk. I had forgotten that Marines will eat anything.
