Great photo, Jes and RP!

I was baaaad yesterday. Carbo load out of laziness..

First, coffee x 2 with splashes.
Then, I made Dutch Babies, which is a german pancake, in this case sans sugar. But I made up for that with maple syrup.

Banana
More coffee
A handful or two of lightly salted pumpkin seeds
A few of the sweet potato crisps I experimented making the previous evening
Gerolsteiner water

Leftover baked potato half with, gads, butter and chopped garlic
Leftover slice of christmas steak

Small amount of homemade limoncello on ice
More Gerolsteiner

Oof. I guess I was tired of all those borlotti beans..

That faint scream you heard this AM was the sound I made after stepping onto the scale at the front of the Publix Food Mart. I had avoided it for the past ten days but today .... Maybe it's guided by the minions of the devil.

Accurate measure this Sunday.
Loooong run today.
Happy New Year!

day 507/162.6/-8.4

In honor of the new year/new start (and the constant inspiration I get from jespah):
On 5/7/04, I weighed 289.4 with a BMI of 45.3.
This morning I weighed 163.5 for a BMI of 25.6. (I always list my official weight from my Tuesday weigh-ins at my Weight Watcher meeting for the Day/Weight/Pounds Down stats above.) So I'm down 125.9 pounds.
Goal is 160 and a healthy BMI. This is the year. This could be the month.

You and jes have both done a more than admirable job in pursuing a healthy lifestyle and weight. I have no doubts you will both succeed at reaching your goals.

Healthy eating is going to pots today, because we're having the New Year's party at our home. We're expecting about 25 adults and about ten children. The menu is very extensive, but mostly Japanese-type food. I'll be pigging out today, and maybe even imbibe a little.

@cicerone imposter,
The house was packed when all arrived. We had cocktail shrimp and tempera shrimp, sashimi, crab, fried chicken and teriyaki chicken, two salads, maki sushi, black beans, softdrinks, beer, wine, sake, and icewine.

Somebody said we had more than 35 people, but it was good to see family and friends gather for about five hours enjoying good food and conversation.

early morning - 3 large mugs black coffee
brunch - eggs salad and ham on ww bread, supp pack, water
mid-afternoon snack - cheddar cheese, pretzel thins, 12 oz can lime seltzer
late afternoon - green tea with lemon
Dinner - roasted chicken breast, artichoke hearts with lemon juice and butter, supp pack, water
alcohol - none
exercise - none

In preparation for Monday's 3-day cleanse/detox I'll begin to reduce my coffee intake by 1/2 cup per day. I've already started eliminating most sugars. I'll make up a big pan of brown rice and use it as a base food for the cleanse. Adding exercise back in to my routine is also a must.

I didn't gain any weight last year which is a good thing after gaining 10 lbs the year before rather than losing 10. I've given up on ever seeing a 6 in the middle again. Given my age and metabolic/hormonal state the charts now say that my ideal weight is 169. I'll be thrilled to get back to 173-175.

Day 0: BMI 25.6
