mm, Do you know anything about Silicon Valley? We have most of the major high tech and biotech companies here; the future economy of the world. Our state is the richest fifth "country" on this planet; and FYI Enron was based in Texas.

I know quite a bit about silicon valley, having grown up in california.

And I know how strong the economy of Ca is.

But I bet the people that owned shares of Enron and had their life savings tied up in it also said "You really think we're in financial trouble?"

Are you actually saying that Silicon Valley is totally immune to the effects of the global economy?

Silicon valley also almost always has one of the highest unemployment rates of any section of the country. Hovers around 10% during downturns. And it's really expensive to live there, especially without a job. My second job in the valley was cut due to "restructuring" (read: they closed the place after spending $100M on a product that nobody ever bought). At that point, I decided to leave, especially since the real estate is so overvalued and costly, and the fruit and nut laws are just too much to take. When Arnie banned a gun that nobody in the state even owned, that was really the last straw. What a moron.

lack or white, it doesn't matter..
the blind don't recognize a candidate by their skin color.. they must rely on their judgement of the person's campaign quality, platform, etc.
so why should we judge obama's possible presidency based on the color of his skin?

Paul is trash, and a big-time bigot. He is a fanatic and represents the worst of this country. Thus, most Reps love him.

Well there you go - I guess there is the reason RP didn't get very far.

I didn't notice any Reps loving him though ...

Because here is what you said...

So its a logical question to ask, is Silicon Valley immune to the global economic crisis?

That's a bit like saying that cjhsa knows quite a bit about bears because he grew up in a cave.
