And it should scare anybody, black or white.

If John McCain had been friends with Timothy McVeigh, do you think he'd be a viable candidate?

How racist of you!

Don't you understand that the Obama/Ayers connection is off limits?

You two stand as perfect examples and a constant reminder that the people of the United States are certainly dumb enough to elect a man like McCain. It was done before, recently as a matter of fact.

I don't think we agree on what Obama is quickly learning.
I'm satisfied that we agree he learns quickly.

Finn dAbuzz wrote:
He may not have much experience in governance and foreign policy, but he has plenty of experience in politics. After all, he has risen through the ranks of Chicago politics, and his one time beloved pastor made a very sharp point, recently, of defining him as a politician.
Yep. He's a good politician. Shouldn't be a surprise, since he's one of the youngest candidates ever.

Finn dAbuzz wrote:
Comparing him to TR is, in my opinion, quite a stretch, and probably wishful thinking.
It is and it certainly is. He may well prove to be an inept opportunist. I'm hoping not, though.

Finn dAbuzz wrote:
Your support of the man puzzles me. He only very recently has even approached the centrist positions which you seem to hold. There really is no evidence at all that he is in anyway free of the partisan restraints of his party, and the notion that he is something new to the political scene is crumbling daily.
My support for him puzzles me sometimes too. His politics are certainly not my politics... but my sense is that he'll make decisions because he believes they are correct decisions. I generally get the same sense from McCain. I don't want to see the SC move any further Right, however... and I feel pretty strongly about that. Enough so to trump McCain's superior (IMO) foreign policy positions. I also think the Bush Tax cuts were terribly irresponsible. There's more, of course, but the decision policy wise is a whole lot closer than you might think. Neither are anywhere close to representing my ideal... but I do view both in a positive light and I can't tell you how delightful that is... for once.

Finn dAbuzz wrote:
Nevertheless, I hardly expect to convince you not to vote for Sen Obama.
Policy wise, I'd be as close to a fence sitter as I've ever been. But; I will be canceling
out a bigot's vote in November. Count on it.

Even Bob Dole sounds better than both Obama and McCain. Too bad Ron Paul isn't one of the two.

JTT you are a significantly lesser version of me.

You know it and I know it, but for those who may have missed this, they ain't about to find an attractively reasonable argument in what you spew.

You are a remora, not a shark, despite whatever sense of smug self-satisfaction you enjoy when you log off A2K.

Yes, you know it's true. Cool

Maybe that's just funny to me...

A couple years back... I took my boat out of Port of Palm Beach for some early evening fishing. After catching a large fish that I couldn't identify; I called an expert fisherman I know to ask if it was a keeper. I described it as best I could and after answering a few questions he identified it as Cobia. He was pretty excited, really, and offered to drive the hour from Port St. Lucie to clean and cook it if I'd share. Done!
So he shows up, knife kit and baggy full of spices in hand, only to call me a stupid a$$hole and re-identify it as remora. Embarrassed

This was not at all unlike the day me and some other friends had the best fishing day of our lives, filling a very large cooler with albacore, only to get laughed off the dock when we returned and learned what we actually caught was bonito (also known as false albacore). To make matters worse; we dumped the whole cooler just seconds before one of the laughers, who had run all the way to the other side of the marina, to let us know that bonita is the single best shark bate there is. I returned to that reef several times, but never saw another bonito… let alone albacore. Embarrassed

CI, thanks for the Wiki item, which directly contradicts George. I guess he doesn't use reference material.

He probably uses something a bit more reliable than Wiki.

Oh, I don't know. I had a discussion with a few teenagers over the weekend who discussed their experiences editing Wiki articles.

It's just GOTTA be true if it's on the internet, right? Laughing

I'm sure Fox can provide all those resources that are "a bit more reliable than Wiki." He attacks the source rather than the content; we all know what that means. LOL
