Is it that this worthless thead is still "featured"?

What does one call someone who continues to post to a thread they think worthless?

An idiot worthy of a george bush medal ceremony.

Great thread Snood, in spite of the usual grouchy fools with no sense of humor.

Can't be. It was featured prior to my first post.

Is this not a commercial venture or are the ads that pop up done as a community service, propping up sagging businesses? Maybe controversy makes it more likely for a thread to be featured.

Don't hits mean greater ad revenue?

To post something that's actually on topic - and strikes me as right on, though others will certainly disagree:

Quote:
Some Very Smart Takes on Wright

If you're not comlpetely exhausted by the Wright controversy, don't miss this bloggingheads discussion between the always-fascinating John McWhorter and the always equally fascinating Glenn Loury. In this segment, McWhorter concludes that white Americans didn't really want to vote for a black candidate. They wanted to vote for a person with black skin who didn't have any real connection to black America--"Robert Kennedy in black face," as McWhorter puts it.

I'm not entirely convinced the Wright episode demonstrates this--I think an association with someone like Wright is a slightly (though not grossly) imperfect proxy for bona fide blackness--but McWhorter's broader point is probably right. There are clearly mainstream elements of African American culture that, we're discovering (or re-discovering), weird out the average white voter. And that's pretty depressing.

Translation, some people apparently believe to be black enough, you have to buy into things such as black liberation theology, which is nothing more than reverse racism in my opinion. Some of the arguments placed here as being credible is in and of themselves disconcerting to say the least. Can some of these people be serious, and why would anyone give them any credit for having a lick of sense?

Okie

sorry for my intrussion.
Wish you and your family all the best.

Should colour or gender play a roll ?

Should it be that much expensive
to pick up a candidate
President of USA?

How about the war-torn
Afganisthan election and the lovely paradise Iraq?
Had they spent much money ( forget about the risks) like USA.?

Thanks, and yours the same.

What is your opinion, Rama, or you just waxing poetic again?

Campaigns are expensive, Rama. If you want to help out, I would suggest you call Clinton as she likes foreign money.

Again, check your grammar, it isn't clear what you are saying. Are you on something, or is it a language problem?

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/maroon

1capitalized : a fugitive black slave of the West Indies and Guiana in the 17th and 18th centuries; also : a descendant of such a slave
2: a person who is marooned

Rockhead, I didn't know I was from the West Indies or Guiana, or that I could be a descendant of a slave. Or maybe I am marooned in Oklahoma? Please clarify.

Great first post, Snood. Pay only slightly more attention to Maporsche than you do Miller (at least he shows potential)(reminiscent of Cyclo a few years back). Though you and I frequently disagree; A2K is a better website on account of your active membership. Much better. Keep being you.

Not fair, O'Bill. Maporsche seems to be a very rational and reasonable fellow, by and large. If you can get past the point that you and he disagree on whom ought to be the next POTUS, that is.

I have no trouble getting past that point. There is, however, nothing reasonable nor rational in some of his inexplicably extreme reactions to Obama news. Outside of that, however, I would agree with you; hence the potential. Now being as Snood mostly sees him whining irrationally about Obama… and now about Snood himself along with this thread; I find the advice to pay little attention to him quite sound.
