Seriously, most of your guys have decent batting averages, except for Pence, and Soto. You must be playing some tough teams.

On paper, my team kicks ass! Twisted Evil

IRL ... not so much.

Yes, but hopefully it's coming around. I've added Halladay and Oswalt (the improving Oswalt, I hope), here in the last week ... so I'm cautiously optimistic about my pitching staff.

my sentiments about my team as well, I'm putting my hopes on Chris Young the pitcher to save me this week.

Good evening. I noticed that one of my batters went 1 for 9 last night in a game that ended up 2 to 1. Curious about this, I clicked on the 2-1 score between Colorado and San Diego and found, in a well written article, that they played 22 innings over some six hours using, combined, something like 15 pitchers. 2-1.

Yeah, I came back at my house yesterday at around 2am, I turned on good ol' channel 4 thinking I might be getting the replay for the Padres' game but they weren't showing it, little did I know the game had ended half an hour before.

Damn straight. 15 pitchers. And none of them choked. The winning run was, I believe, scored as "unearned."

Well, he didn't pitch poorly, but he didn't save you either.

According to my calculations, the Rednecks are going to vault into 8th place in the standings after today's games. Eat my dust.

Huh. Several pages back I mentioned that Kansas City Star website that showed MLB injuries and even when various players were just resting - the best list I've found yet for that. It gets a servor error notice now. I also liked it for it's game logs. Phooey.

So, I've a player that I found out too late had a little x by his name,
Nick Johnson. It looks like he had one at bat, and struck out and the rest of the day is zeros. Didn't see an injury report, though I haven't looked for a few hours. If he had been injured, would they put an x there?

The x means he didn't start the game. He probably came in as a pinch hitter for one AB late in the game.

I am playing you this week, Alex, so I will offer no advice. But maybe, since you are a newbie here, Tico or Rockhead or someone could make some suggestions to your lineup,

Thank you realjohnboy. I was wondering who was behind the Rappin Rednecks. One of the biggest dilemmas I have with my line up is that many of my players have nagging injurys. Every day is a crap shoot whether they'll play or not. My local paper, or televission news sportscast are unreliable. So is yahoo player information updates. I'm going to buckle down, and ride the storm out. It's a long year.

I do have a question. If my second baseman is injured, has the x by him for a game that's going to be played, and I have no other second baseman on my team, am I correct in saying that there is no way to fill that postion unless I drop and add a player?

Waves to alex...

that's why I'm whining about loss of the kansas city star site, as it was WAY the best re injuries, such a help. Well, I'll check, maybe it's stopped doing the server error thing. If so, I'll post that.

I'm back down, after a brutal smackdown by the squirrelies, to where I started, a mere feather ahead of The Rapping Rednecks.

I even know some of my problem, I'm too in love with all my third basemen... when I could use a good pitcher.

Shaddup, Tico. ; }
Watch Oswalt pitch the perfect game... at 6:05 my time.

Alex, even if you add a 2nd baseman, you cannot use him till tomorrow...

(there is a one day lag, that requires some playing with to use to your advantage)
