Unusual New Mexican weather is kind of a redundancy.

Hey I saw something in the paper, to the effect that everyone should leave the American south-west immediately.

The weather was so bad last evening that we sat out on the patio of our favorite restaurant having dinner until the dark hours sent us scurrying home where we once again spent the rest of the evening sitting on our own patio. It was horrendous.

There is other difficulty having to do with past planning and perhaps future planning, and changes in administration of energy transmission. For example, I've recently read something about a difficulty in developing wind farms re trouble in getting the energy produced delivered to major cities.
Which is too bad, New Mexico being windville for quite a goodly part of the year.

Back home ... since two hours.

Slept nearly five hours in the plane ("the new Lufthansa sleeper seats") and don't have a jetlag.

I am happy you returned home well, Walter. I have also had good experiences flying Lufthansa.

Oh! The Guardian article on climate change is part of the Big Mexican scheme. Our plan is to scare the gringos out of the provinces they stealed from us 200 years ago, occupy them and never leave.

Come to think about it... heck, we Mexicans are so shrewd we may well be changing the climate only to drive them out and recover OUR LAND.

Soon you'll read a post from some A2K conservative explaining all this with detail, and denouncing liberal complicity.

Good, but wait 'til a couple of days.

From my experience, jetlag affects mostly the other way round (from Europe to America). Don't know why.

Didn't have it that way around at all ... but now (just a teeny-weeny bit, though Mrs Walter thinks different  ).

Walter, glad you're back.

You were the perfect guest, making friends with the animals, teaching Dante how to use the computer and to do it in German so that we won't have any idea what he is saying.

Singing German lullabys to Fred, which stopped his screeching fairly often.

You charmed Sally, but you shouldn't be too proud of that--she's a shameless little hussy who loves anyone who will pet her and play with her.

Dys and I are very informal. Our message to guests is to go rummage around in the frig if you want a snack between meals. I really don't enjoy having guests constantly asking permission. It makes me feel like saying, "Go get what you want, for god's sake (and Diane's).You did and we began to think of you as family.

Now we wait impatiently for photos.
