Cute photo of Bean, shewolf! Will you be taking photos at the gathering? If everyone agrees, you should post some gathering photos. I always like to see photos of A2Kers.

But wolfie, that is something every girl should know if they want to compete in a man's world...

She is such a cutie. A beauty and a rascal--great combination!

Sorry I've been absent for a coupla days. Had to publish the last issues of the middle school AND high school newspapers. Whew!

No JPB??? What the...! HUGE bummer. I was so looking forward to hanging with her again.

PDiddies changed accommodations? Another bummer. Ah well, I'll keep the free range kittycat entertained. That's actually a plus for me. I love the little furballs.

After thinking about it, maybe the Hacienda de Colores B&B is not such a good idea for Sunday. I do think a park would be better. A cat among allergy sufferers? Huh-uh. Carry on with the park search.

Re: disagreements, etc., I gotta say...the divergent interests and viewpoints of this bunch of folks is exactly what makes me want to come. I'm looking forward to seeing each and every single one of you. this is going to be a real treat for me!

WOO HOO....one week from now it'll be underway!

My hair is much a do about nothing, hence the hat in the midday New Mexican sun. You flatlanders might keep that in mind whilst hiking the blazing sands. Your base elevation is 5,000'. Maybe more on top of Sandia Peak.

I still have fond memories of the tiff we had at the Chicago gathering, Eva! Smile

Eva brightens a roon just by walking in.

Roger's comment made me remember that I was going to give a few tips. Probably most of you are aware of the dangers of the desert sun, but for those who aren't, you really have to take it seriously. When I was growing up in Tucson, every year a few tourists would die from sun exposure. They might run out of gas and think it would be an easy walk back to the gas station they just passed. They often didn't make it.

Lot of water, a hat and don't forget the elevation. While it's around 5,000 ft here, on top of Sandia, it's 10,000. If you aren't used to it and if you aren't in good shape, you will begin to think your tiredness is terminal.

In fact, for those going on the tram, be sure to bring a sweater for the temps there are far cooler than down in ABQ.

We want you safe, on your feet and ready to PARTEE!!!

OMG. One week away and I haven't begun to prepare. I like to come home to a clean house, so I cleared the dining room table last night. I saw it today, and thought, what a nice, clean work space. So. . . .

And with a clean workspace, naturally, I started a whole new project.

It was clean for 30 minutes, and I was briefly proud.

Yes and no, shewolf, The PD's have announced their plans for mid-Friday and for the tram ride on Saturday. Anyone who wishes to join them is welcome. Feel free to propose other activities for the same times that might appeal to others.
It looks to me like the Flying Star on Friday evening will be as close as we get to a "main event." I am still holding out hope for something in a park on Sunday.
Going trick or treating to Dys and Diane's, and to BBB's, on Saturday afternoon looks good to me.

Spinn's
6001 Winter Haven Road - well, that's what it says as the address, but that's an old street name and it is really in the long mall that sits on the northeast corner of Coors and Montano.
899-6180
No reservation needed for 5 people, for 16, please let them know.

Spinn's is a place with pretty good hamburgers, and a lot of other food,
and large selection of beer.

Sometime or other, I'm anticipating a burger at Spinns Beer & Burgers. The tram looks like a done deal, as does something at a park on Sunday.
