We can all look then.

I didn't know there is a park on Ladera.. thought it was all golf course. That one I'll have to check out for sure.

On the Hacienda de Colores, I remember from the website that it looks very pretty. It is close to Old Town..

I just drove up to the El Rancho Atrisco park on the corner of Ladera and Los Tretos. The Coors exit on St. Joseph (catholic church) where Ladera begins after one block.

The park has a basketball court, children's playground with slides, bars, and swings.

It does not have bathrooms. I talked to a man who lives across the street. He said the park department would provide portable toilets if requested. He said the park is safe. No alcoholic drinks allowed.

Its a great place for dogs, but Dolly, Maddy and Sally would have to be on leashes.

Dys-Diane and BBB could bring stack patio chairs to the park for additional seating.

that does not sound like a good park for everyone then.

The El Rancho Atrisco park is a lovely little neighborhood park. The portable toilets will fill our needs. It's across the street (Ladera) from the golf course, with it's club house restaurant and take out food bar.

I'll try to look at both that (I believe you that it is lovely, BBB) and Rinconado when I go to the grocery store today.

After giving this much thought, I've come to the inevitable conclusion.

Due to the disturbing portrait that has been so lovingly painted of me by my friend Osso, it is impossible for me to attend the gathering in Albequerue.

It would not be fair for me to chance making any of the many ladies to be in attendance uncomfortable, or to feel uneasy at my presence.

I regret that it had to be this way.

RH

I am still in the middle of moving, so this is a one shot appearance.

I am not taking questions, nor will I reverse my decision.

as much as I can understand people having disagreements, is this really the place to air that kind of laundry?

Is it fair to spread that all over everyone else.. ?

Im sorry you two are having problems.. and I regret that I wont be able to meet you.. I was REALLY looking forward to that.. but things happen and I understand. Maybe some other time..

but.. (sigh)

really... the gathering does not need to be tainted with static between you two especially if it is not going to HAPPEN at the gathering ya know?

I dont know.. maybe I should just shut my mouth.. I dont know what is going on anyway

I hope you two can 'make up' to some extent down the road?
waht ever it is about..

Rocky, I'm really, really bummed. Since you can't or won't be talked out of it, I'll respect your decision and not try but this is NOT good at all.

Bummer.

Hi everyone!
Sorry it has been so long since I have posted on the thread. Here's our updated itinerary:

-- We arrive in Albuquerque at around nine Friday morning the 16th, will claim the rental car and be ready for a late brunch or early lunch with whomever wants to meets us and wherever works.

-- We changed our lodging from the Hacienda de Colores (Mrs. Diddie discovered that they have a free-range cat on the premises, which would make her stay miserable due to her allergic reaction to cat dander). We're at the Old Town Bed and Breakfast on 17th Street.

-- We have reserved a ghost tour on one of the weekend evenings -- I think Saturday and I'm waiting for her to call me back and confirm that -- and we want to drive up to Santa Fe or Taos on Sunday for some road-trip action (probably Taos, since we haven't been there before). There might be a couple of extra seats in our car if anyone wants to ride along. I say that cautiously about the back seats as it's an economy model from Dollar.

--We don't depart until Tues 5/20 at 12:20 so we're available for breakfast that morning with whatever bitter-enders remain to do so.

I haven't read back more than two pages so now I'll go see how our plans conflict with everything else y'all have already scheduled.

Rocky, please reconsider. I know the thread was terribly inappropriate, but I'm sure osso didn't mean for it to come out that way.

If she PM's you and apologizes, would you be willing to reconsider?

I, too, respect your decision and I'm really not trying to push you into something that you now find distastful, just asking you to reconsider with osso's cooperation.

I can understand your not wanting to come here, RH, but I ask you to reconsider. As you know by our previous communication, I am sorry I posted that in that thread. The ladies, including myself, will be glad to see you.

This may turn out to be laundry day. Best to do large loads. Saves energy and all that.

I'm looking forward to seeing the PDiddies again, so glad you are still making it.

On the two parks, El Rancho Atrisco and Rinconada, I went by them after the store. First of all, they look better in real life than on the photos in the Street View on google maps.

Rinconanda is larger, and has two, that I saw, covered patios with tables, benches and roofs. Who knows how popular they are. The trees at 12:30 pm cast little shade - they're somewhat younger than at the El Rancho Atrisco. It had scads of play equipment. I have little doubt it had bathrooms but I was being tailgated as I was checking that part.

El Rancho Atrisco park was a cute little park - Some of it can't be seen from Ladera, so it's bigger than it looks passing by. Some of the best shade is right by the basketball court, which might not matter. I kinda doubt that is used much, but of course I don't know.
There are some other shade trees on site, so even at 12:15 there were some places to plop chairs and pillows.

your post does not effect anyone . Most of us are not going to let it.

This is not related to the gathering for anyone reading alone..,does NOT reflect on Dys , Diane or anyone else who is attending. No one is behind the scenes fueling this spat, and there is nothing that is going to happen at the gathering to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

There will be no static, no stress, or nastiness .

We are all adults and can deal with issues as such.

Please.. if this has made you feel odd, and you were planning on coming before.. yet changing your mind now maybe?
Reconsider.

please reconsider.

You will be missing out on meeting some really wonderful loving people.

This does not concern anyone at the gathering. This is not supposed to be anyone elses business but osso's and rockheads.
Sadly, it was made public... as many things are on A2K that really shouldn't be.. So what. We have all done it at one point or another..

Like other things.. we can put this under the rug and either pee on it like little dogs and hope it grows, or just walk over it.

Since Rama seems amongst the missing, I might adopt this as my new sig line.
