I can't find one of my favorite T-Shirts. There is a picture of Geronimo with 3 or 4 braves next to him. Under the photo it reads,
"Fighting Terrorism Since 1492."

Wish I could find it. What, oh no, do you think?, no it couldn't be, but maybe......

Roger, you're one of those quiet men who don't miss a thing.

I have great admiration for people who use "lest" in a sentence.

Look forward to seeing you again, osso.

In two weeks, at this time, I'll be in the air already ...

... before waiting at Frankfurt airport for my flight to Denver, that is.

We Need Rain!!

Here's hoping the winds are gone by the 14th. Below is part of an article on a fire burning southeast of ABQ. It won't threaten us, but for those of you who might have been planning on a scenic drive through the Manzano mountains, there won't be much to see except charred forests.

The humidity here has been around 7% and I can't remember the last time it rained--not good for firefighting.

NM fire jumps containment line in Manzano Mountains
Alamogordo Daily News

Article Launched: 05/01/2008 01:07:07 PM MDT

MANZANO A second consecutive day of fierce wind is hampering firefighters battling a blaze that more than doubled in size within hours in central New Mexico's Manzano Mountains.

The Trigo Fire had been 95 percent contained at 4,500 acres before a spot fire flared on the north side Wednesday afternoon and wind gusting to more than 50 mph drove the flames about 3 miles to the northeast.

By early Thursday morning, fire officials estimated the acreage at 11,368, or almost 18 square miles.

''We're pretty much going to have a carbon copy of yesterday again today,'' Peter D'Aquanni, a U.S. Forest Service public information officer, said Thursday.

Eh, no worries - I'll bring some from Raincouver. No prob. That is, if I'm coming. And I hope to. Whatever the hell it is we're all doing, I wish someone would just pm everyone with a list of shite planned and there ya go. I can't read back pages and pages to figure it all out.

Someone tell me what's going on!!! Never mind, I'll just hang out with Rocky. He's cool. He loves blues. Cool

Ah, I think we all sort of decided, more or less, that we'd get together somewhere, and kind of talk it over. Then, we'll have a picnic, probably on Sunday, and see what we've decided.

Am I making you nervous, Mame?

Perplexing. I've been told to be quiet at least four times, including advisement by you, Mame. Now you want a schedule posted, and won't read the thread about possibilities?

As far as I know, we are all meeting at the Calico Cafe on upper 4th Street on Saturday morning, who knows at what time, and all ten or sixteen or twenty three of us will then decide what to do. I plan to have biscuits and gravy, hot.

Of course, we could have been on the Tram then.... or at the Indian Cultural Center or.. walking in Old Town.

LordaLucy. We don't even know if you are interested in southwestern food or not, you the cook. Not to mention what anyone else thinks, though we know Roger and Walter and Eva, though I don't know your take on hot food, Eva.

Uh, I've certainly never told you to be quiet - I love the noises you make. I think you've mistaken me for someone else. And I certainly didn't mean to imply that you had to be the one to write the schedule. Sorry if you misunderstood anything I said.

read the thread, how hard is that?

Many people are leaving on sunday evening, Roger. The picnic on Sunday is a good possibility, if there is interest. Diane and Dys and I have been checking out the places but not conclusively. Possible blazing sun at Tingley, as at least in the main park the tree plantings are young, but we didn't walk through the nature reserver to the Rio Grande, yet. A potential place across Central, toward the Aquarium... And we need to check out the Nature Center, up by Candalaria.

But people may also want to meet at, say, BBB's, or at restaurants, previously mentioned or not.

Besides, get your ass over here. Your kids, don't know their age, might like the train from Tingley to the Botanic Garden...
