A lot of it will probably be over a long weekend, Jim, if it's anything like some past meetings.

Indeed. The plan is that some folks might get in Wednesday evening and leave the following Monday morning. Other folks could drop in during that time frame for a day or whatever they can manage. More on that in the dreaded Step 2.

Good grief! Does this mean I will have to give dogs Dolly and Madison a bath?

BBB, quel horror! (or however you say that in French...)
Is there any connection between this get-together and the site blackout?

Was it Craven being in a snit because he wasn't personally invited to ABQ?

Noddy, this was just a foretaste of what is to come in ABQ.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one in the dark this morning....
You shouldn't be online anyway, being freshly in love, the Sunday mornings are spent in bed.

Haha. We get up at 5AM...have breakfast, talk, doodle...he goes to
work.
Sounds great but I am afraid we cannot make it.
<Craven would know he's invited, for sure>
EVERYBODY'S INVITED!! I hope all who live here will participate on this thread if they would like to be involved.
There are lots of things to do locally and, if you have time, further afield. Santa Fe is lovely as is Taos. The northern mountains are gorgeous although it would still be iffy as far as weather is concerned.
Going south, say to the Gila's and Black Mountains would probably be OK. Such beautiful country and lots of it.
We wouldn't mind driving people, but because of health issues, endurance can be a problem. There is only so much activity possible for those of us who are not in the best condition.
We really look forward to having an ABQ get together.
worth the trip
I took a train to Albuquerque once. Stayed at the Sandia Resort. Never did see the watermelon in the mountain. First day there I hiked a few small hills, did the petroglyphs, then drove higher, and higher, and higher. Submerged in a hot springs bath later that day, I should of known that my slow thumping, heart beat was an early sign of altitude sickness. Three days on my back. Not even an ice chip would stay down.
New Mexico is a beautiful state. The cuisine is real. The different cultures are cool. The native Sandias are also very nice.
I would love to be there, but right now it doesn't seem feasible.
A potential date for the garthering hasn't been posted - just spring sometimes.
Where is the closest casino.
Sandia Pueblo. Right in the city limits, for all of its being a soverign nation.
